Very interesting concept for a game! It was cool to see that you made a racing game for the Jam as well! I played maybe around 5 or 6 races in the browser. I understand that it's a very early prototype, so many things are going to be missing or unbalanced in the current build.

Honestly, the game looks and plays really well for a fast-action 3D racing game running in the browser! I think the overall look of the game is nice so far, and I especially like the logo and menu or interface graphics. It wasn't super obvious what everything did or represented at first, but I still liked the overall presentation, and it seems like you have plans to change the menus and HUD layouts anyway based on the images on the game page. I definitely prefer the look, layout, and options shown in the gallery images.

I think it would be nice to have some options to customize your vehicle's colors and appearance. Some music or sound effects (even just some basic placeholder ones to start with), I think would add a lot to the game. Something I noticed was that the racers tended to get stuck a lot. Especially on sharp turns or on a specific thin part of the road near the end of the track. Other than that, my only major issue with the game so far was that I felt like I didn't really have much control over the outcome of the race, and it didn't seem very competitive for most of it. I was able to consistently get winning places just from using nitro boosts and upgrade cards. There weren't many moments where my vehicle was close to another racer long enough for the tactical cards to be much of an advantage. This was especially apparent in the later races after upgrading my vehicle's stats.

Overall though, I think it's a unique and pretty cool idea for a game, and it looks promising so far!

Thanks! Even though the game is still pretty early in development, I tried to focus a lot on the game's presentation, like making sure the music, visuals, and overall style of the game worked well together. So I'm glad to hear that you liked it!

I have noticed that it can sometimes be difficult to get ahead in a race if you get set back behind the other racers. Adding items helped with this issue somewhat, but it's still something that I'm hoping to improve to help make the races feel more fun and competitive for the player. I plan on tweaking the rubber banding and AI for the other CPU racers some more to hopefully help with this.

I'm also currently working on trying to fix some of the lag in the browser version of the game.

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback!

This is my first time trying to make a game in 3D, so I'm hoping to improve upon the art, models, and animations some more in the future, but it's nice to know that the artstyle and visuals work well for the game so far!

The controls were something I had a difficult time getting to feel right, so I'm glad to hear that the game controls well!

The racers sometimes getting stuck from clipping into objects at high speeds was an issue I kept running into during testing. I thought I might've fixed it, but I've noticed that it still seems to happen from time to time. It should no longer be as big of an issue in the next update, as I made some tweaks to the collision detection to hopefully be a little more accurate, but I'm still not sure if it's entirely fixed yet.

Sometimes doing a drift hop can get you unstuck, and you can also reset the race in the pause menu, but I'll definitely consider adding a way to reset the racer's position if it continues to be an issue.

Thanks! I was originally going to post a browser build of the demo as  well, but it unfortunately didn't run very well and had some other issues. I'm planning on trying to optimize the game some more in a few areas, so hopefully then it will run a little better on older/worse computers as well as in the browser.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.

There's a PC version of the game I made before this, if you didn't know. It's basically the same exact game, but with a better resolution, and proper keyboard controls.

I really only made this mobile port because a few people had asked for one. I'll put a link to it in the description.

Thanks! I'll add controls in the next update, it shouldn't take too long. Also, about the asteroid thing you said. There are larger brown asteroids in a later level that can damage you, but I'll try to change the background ones to blend in better.

Thanks for posting these assets. I've been looking for professional looking huds to use in my projects. These seem like they'll work very well.
