thank you!

very well polished and cute game! just wondering, are the key presses supposed to be synced with the music? i felt like sometimes it synced and sometimes it didn't

i like how your soundtrack is really simple but effective! the goofy style really fits with the funny visuals lol. and ya those orchestral hits are so op

thank you!

hahaha oversight!

One of the highest scores I'm giving in this jam! We also made a rotating rhythm game (we were THIS close to also calling it "how the turn tables") but I might like the direction you guys took even more since it allows for more satisfying scratching :) I really love this game!

Wait your game is so fun and the audio integration is awesome! I love how the scratching integrates so well with the song. We also made a rotating rhythm game but couldn't figure out a good way to get scratching in.

Awesome to hear! Ya I also feel like writing music at a keyboard or an instrument just feels way better than starting digitally, maybe unless I'm starting with sound design. I think there's nothing wrong with royalty free sounds since they just expand your library of sounds. One thing I like to do is make those sounds "mine" by adding a bit of effects or processing before using them. Otherwise it does feel a little low effort to me.

I love this game! I think you really nailed everything, and I think it has huge post-jam potential!

i think i got 10000+ the first time i tried it (that run i stopped because it got too repetitive not because i died). i just tried again and got 9200 by dying. i think a bit of it is RNG, though i do think holding the mouse down in the center of the arena helps a bit. this is all with the default top btw

really high scores throughout for me! i feel like i am pretty bad at the game but i can see how it can be really addicting for high scorers haha

i absolutely love everything about this! it's clear you put a ton of thought into this and you definitely incorporated audio and gameplay together very very tightly in the best way! swapping between tracks based on player state is something i'd want to explore in the future

it's definitely one of the most unique ones i've seen! i think you did a great job at that :)

I wish making money was this easy...

i liked the music! it really reminds me of the music of the flash games i played as a kid. gives a lot of nostalgia vibes :)

The sounds of the tops clashing were awesome and so satisfying! On gameplay though, I felt like the optimal strategy was just to hold my mouse button down forever until one of those yellow powerups appears, and then I'd just release it in that direction to pick it up, and then I'd hold it down again. I felt like if I just kept doing that I could survive forever.

That's cool! The randomizer feels like one of those things where if you didn't do it, the repetition would stick out like a sore thumb, but because you did it, players don't notice it at all. As for the pitch basically telling you the health of your top, I thought that was a really cool feature that worked really well!

just tried your game! as a fellow audio nerd i really did nerd out on this one haha i felt like my brain was getting tingles like from binaural beats

This is one of the most unique ideas I have seen this jam and as an audio nerve it really scratched a lot of itches I never knew I had! Gameplay-wise though, I didn't really see too much difficulty (I think I may have cheesed it by using my mouse's scroll wheel?) so in that regard it felt a bit lacking for me. But the premise is incredible!

yes yes yes! i loved the sound effects of your game and they were a big reason for why the gameplay felt so satisfying! which synths did you use?

Thanks for playing and the kind words! Our leaderboard system sometimes runs into loading issues. If you wait long enough it should populate, but yeah it can be really slow sometimes. We're looking into it, though. Noted on the 4th level - we'll fix that in a post-jam verison!

Thanks for playing! Sorry about the glitching, we noticed that too but didn't have enough time to fix it haha

High scores from me! This game was super super satisfying to play. Super tiny nitpick but I think the audio was really soft for me. Other than that I loved it!

Thank you for playing! We'll think about how we can better integrate scratching SFX after the jam!

As everyone else had said, very serious game. It was pretty well executed and well polished and carries a strong message, but I personally think the relevance to the jam theme was a bit weak since the only spinning that's happening is two gifs of cyclists. Regardless, a strong entry given how polished and complete the game is!

Thank you for playing! Yessss, love super hexagon!

High points from me! The first literal spin to win game I've played this jam and done really well! Overall super well polished with great art and sound. The only thing for me was that it wasn't clear why my character stopped spinning - I couldn't tell if it was because I stumbled or because I didn't draw circles correctly.

LETS GO GAMBLING

is this what it's like to work in sales :<

I love the idea! Time to look for a .wav to beatmap converter haha

Thank you for playing and for leaving such a thoughtful comment! I agree there could be many things that could be done to elevate it. We tried to give later levels different mechanics like dual arms and smaller disc, but perhaps those were not enough haha

Awesome game! Super high points all around from me, though I do wish that the combat felt a little less clunky - I think if either you could move while swinging the sword or the sword radius was longer it would feel a lot better. The rubik's cube mechanic is so novel and I love it!

yooooooo i love the music and all the sound effects. the spinning sounds are so crunchy, and the music... man the music is just awesome. i think it really shows that you had a great template and an awesome vision. i love all the sections of the song, and they all sound super well produced. do you have a link to the soundtrack?

Another fellow record spinner woohoo! I like your interpretation of the theme and I love the speed up/slow down mechanic, and I appreciate how the music sounds good at any of the speeds :D

I didn't understand though what's stopping me from slowing down the entire track and playing the game on easy mode haha

Good to see you here! Thanks so much for playing!

spinny rhythm game! hope you enjoy :)

yooooooooo another dj scratch rhythm game! curious how you guys set up your beatmap system.

i like your take on using the traditional top-down note format of rhythm games and matched that with the spinny record at the bottom. also cool visuals and tunes!
