just recorded a game, here is an image of the last image before the black screen: https://imgur.com/a/QEE6EU4

The hitbox should be much smaller than your ship, here is 8 pixels further than the tip of my wing.

And for the down time, just a 1s delay before firing the first shot would make it more fair but you do you.

Cool I got into it!
It felt super hard at first because I wasn't playing in full screen, and you see way further in fullscreen.

I would slow the game by probably 10-20% overall, many time you simply don't have time to react to what's coming to you, which feels a bit unfair sometimes. In my game I added one variable that control the speed of EVERYTHING, player, projectile, enemies... and I would strongly recommend it, it was really helpful to tune the game so that it matches the average human response time if that makes sense. Here for example I was never really able to look at my health, you simply don't have time.

Also, it would need a bit of feedback when you get hit, it's not obvious when you get hit or not and overall I never knew in what shape I was, death came "as a surprise"

I feel like the hitboxes are really large? I often had the feeling I should be fine but died.

Also could be good to have a "down time" at the beginning of the level, some times it is impossible to avoid a shot in the first second of the level.

Cool and fun video!

That first guy passing by once the wall goes down at the beginning 🤪

Damn that was scary haha!! Cool game, great atmosphere and cool puzzles, 20 min or so, worth a try
