extremely based novella!! never have i felt such absolute yearning for something so absolutely horrific! 

-this was somehow a comforting read when it wasn't making me feel violently ill. something about the freedom they have, with their bodies with each other and with the life they live. sigh. don't we really all want to be transgender bug bible monsters. 

-ender/echo dynamic is well thought out and complex and really fun on page?? i like their subtle power dynamic thing they have going on. plus the co-dependency. i'm obsessed with echo so much you have no idea she's so. i'm shaking her in a jar. ender is creature as well. 

-i got the physical copy and its so pretty and awesome. i like holding it. i especially like the little illustrations/ plant thing page divider. sorry if these are all quite mundane thoughts. i liked it a lot.

the ending scene was so chilling, all visuals and cause of discharge message / churchy text (idk what to call them but genuinely this was so creative and cool. like the screen and just the moment pulled out of the narrative to just. think.) and then just the silence after she pulls the trigger. The nothing. I had to go sit and stare at a wall. And how the EPC markswoman's outfit kinda makes her look like an angel and AHHHHHHHHHHH. religious imagery.... Sorry if this doesn't make sense but i'm barking and growling clawing at the walls.

uhm i read this a while ago and i keep coming back and rereading it. It made me want to draw again. it made me want to write again. Caleb and Bunny now occupy my mind like worms. The art is gorgeous, the colour palate is gorgeous, the characters are wonderfully complex and urghhhhhhh iiii. Need everybody i know to read this. Author may both sides of your pillow remain cold forever.
