Hey jaogwal! Thank you so much for playing my game and taking the time to give some feedback :3.
I agree that the progression is lacking after a bit, and if I have the time to update the game it will definitely be focused around adding more progression and refining the increments to be better paced and rewarding.
I'm happy to hear that you made it into the depths of the ocean. I was thinking about having an ending, but I was planning more around some sort of growth mechanic for the pet octopus and, once they are big enough, triggering an ending. I'll have to think more about different events that I could add when reaching certain depths.

Hey Thorne! Thank you so much for hosting the jam and taking the time to play and write feedback as well.
The fishing rod being cast as a spell is something that I really enjoy as a concept too. I was planning to add one or two more spells (minigames) that were more focused on active play, but I ended up polishing up what I already had. One idea I had was a Magic Arrow spell that is like a duck hunt minigame with fish jumping out of the water. Another idea was Summon Crabber which is a rhythm game that you have to react to fish coming from different directions. Let me know if you have any ideas for more spells, I would love to hear them.
To be clear about what you are suggesting, do you mean that, when you initially cast, the hook sinks quickly? Like a fishing line weight
