Great concept; the mythic, fairytale logic felt really on theme. I also loved the cover art, the isometric map, and the colour scheme you chose! Very pretty.

The light blue, descriptive font was a bit tough to read for me (I had to zoom in), and I would prefer if you didn't have the paper texture overlay--there is already a lot of great texture in your background and in your art, you don't need it and I think it's making a bit too busy for me.

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yes, Yager-yugh was envisioned as a giant bird. Usually in Into the Odd when a single creature is a Detachment that's the case. I really appreciate your interest, I could see myself doubling the page count and adding some more maps and illustrations at the end of the jam. This has been a great opportunity for feedback!

Thank you for taking the time to let me know--that's very kind 🫶

Thank you for taking the time to read it, and for the feedback! Yes I agree the maps look a bit blurry, especially when zoomed in. It's an effect I'm afraid is made worse by my choice to use a semi-transparent digital pen. I've been blown away by the other submissions, and have been learning so much since the ratings opened 🤯

Exceptional; fully-realized and very playable. Amazing work.

I really love the writing and theme on this one; the maps look good, and the cover art is really evocative. It goes a long way toward selling the premise.

I wish the text had more breathing room, like others have said it can be a bit wall-of-texty, but I can't imagine what you could have cut and kept the high level of worldbuilding and vibe-establishing that you've got here.

I also think the adventure would benefit from a list of premade characters, or some tips on making traditional Cairn characters into Spacefleet crew on theme--it was hard for me to imagine running this with Cairn when there is so much implied worldbuilding in the Cairn character creation.

Thank you for taking the time to read it, and for the praise!

Thank you for the praise! I appreciate it. Certainly the spiderfolks' ancestors include crabs, but they've adapted to living in caves (hence the webs). It's certainly left up for interpretation, thank you for your interest!

I think there's a lot of potential on display here, but a few mistakes are holding it back. I love the depiction of the adventure location: the points of interest are all well drawn and the cell-shaded-looking colour palette has a lot of charm. However, extending that vibrancy into the rest of the module hurt the readability for me. The writing is intriguing at times, but then lacks specificity in the gameable elements. For example, "1. A buoy surrounded by fog traps the players. Every time it is encountered, something about it is more eldritch" -- I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do with that. I love where the idea is going, but give me a specific detail I can use to evoke the horror.

But I want to reiterate I think there's a lot of potential here, I especially loved the Anchorite Reef and all that it implies, and the Reeds and the intelligent cranes seem like a fun encounter.

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it.

Thank you!

Thank you for checking it out! I appreciate the feedback.

I really enjoyed reading this one; the map and key are outstanding and seem very easy to run at the table. The visuals ooze charm and draw me in, the words are evocative and the font is very legible while selling the vibe.

*One minor nitpick: I didn't love that you used percentile dice for the guards accepting a bribe, then later 2:6 chance of witnessing cultists escorting intoxicated guests/tossing them into the pit--for Shadowdark, I would have preferred a CHA check for the bribes (Normal or Hard) and tying the potential cult activity to the encounter roll.

Really excellent work!

The visual design is absolutely stunning; the limited words only enhance the vibes and intrigue. I love the way the map is presented and not overwritten, that makes it much easier to run at the table. The colour palette is really easy on the eyes, my only tiny nitpick is I wish there was more contrast between the words and the background on the NPC panel.

Still, you got 5 stars down the line from me!

Beautiful art and writing. Beautiful body horror. Love this.

The art in this is breathtaking, and well-presented alongside the words and graphics. I especially love that the sciencey-bits of the science-fantasy genre are presented with their due mysticism ("killing light").

It's 5 stars down the line from me!

Amazing work! I really appreciate when talented designers create non-traditional locations like this to explore and hang out in; those are some of the hardest to design and gamify, so I always appreciate having modular sites like this I can drop in to my games!

Incredible art and graphic design, well done! The art has a lot of implied motion, which really helps sell the urgency of the adventure imo. It makes me want to just dive in and run this adventure before the end! Ah!

Really liked the concept, it was fun to read. I'm not familiar with Troika, but I love that this adventure location is hidden in a city and ignored by the locals like a twisted urban legend. The mien table below the Paladin's stats really do a good job of humanizing it without explicitly telling the players what's up. Good job!

Very well written adventure; the setting is grounded in a way that makes these more ~mundane~ NPCs really shine. Like many people have said, feels cinematic. The small sandbox paired with an escalating timer reminded me of playing Desperation (card game by Jason Morningstar). The art included is really good, I just wish there was more of it to help me picture the village (but then, you'd lose some beautiful words so who knows!).

Well written, and consistent with the Shadowdark RPG style! The formatting is clean, I love that the map doubles as a cover (almost like an establishing shot, too!). The random encounters are good too, I love the variety. The storm mechanic is a clever way to make sure the adventure continues to escalate. Great job!

Very well written, I especially liked the Ever Silk/World Loom and its consequences. The layout is clean despite how densely packed it is. The art and map look fantastic, too! Great work!

Thank you so much!

Really, really inspiring map! It will probably also inspire some nightmares with that moon face.

THAT COLOUR PALETTE. This map just pops! The art has a storybook feel, but haunted. The folk-horror vibe works so well for Cairn and the Appx N theme. The writing is lean and evocative. It's an easy 5 stars down the line from me!

Really good layout and font, looks really easy to run with minimal prep. Good job!

Awesome science-fantasy vibes, and a really clean layout (and helpful rules-reminder text for those who are new to Cairn); the dungeon layout is really fun too, and well presented.

*My (very) personal nitpick: I don't love the text that reveals the true nature of the dungeon features (cryosleep, cables, etc.): my preference would be to leave that ambiguous for the reader/players as if the words for such a thing are totally out of reach.

Well done!

Definitely it's brutal in a fun way. What I love about running Into the Odd is it takes like 30 seconds to make a character, they are all explicitly explorer/grave-robbers who have it coming, so no one really feels bad when they get what's coming to them. Just roll up a new one and get back in it.

Thank you for reading it! I'm glad the ~vibe~ still comes through with such a limited word count.

Thank you for taking a look, and I think you're right about the line spacing. Using Canva for my layout is the newest skill in my workflow, and I spent a lot of time moving it all around so it works as both pages and a bifold spread, but I'm not sure I got there in the end.

Thank you for the kind words! I wanted to keep the writing lean and let the maps breathe on the page ~~~

Nice, hand-made art and really dreamy writing--this one leaves an impression!

Very clean layout and an exciting premise. Well done!

Really attractive layout, great collage art, and really tight writing. Love it.

Really loved this one, especially Talos. Feels mythic in all the right ways.

Really loved the the collaborative worldbuilding questions; these days I've been really into adventures and systems that hand over traditionally GM roles to the players. Great layout and art, too!

I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! And yes, the tile crawlers are an annihilation reference; even the HP boost and brain scrub immunity before the final, fatal transformation was a nod.

Thank you! I managed to keep the whole thing under 700 words!

So much flavour packed into so few words, love it! The concept is a really good riff on the prompt. Great work!

Awesome cover art! Whoah!
