Thanks! We think it turned out pretty strong. Stay tuned, there's a chance we'll be improving it soon!

Here's a video of my playthrough!

PROS

Cool feel, graphics.

Objective was clear and obtainable.

70 turns feels like enough time to do the thing but also feel the pressure of time.

CONS

Camera and walls don’t play nice.

Clues bugged out on my second time.

Here's my video playtest!

PROS

Lots of cool abilities, jump feels interesting

CONS

No tutorial, little feedback – what am I doing, how much health do I have?

Thanks so much for not only checking out our game, but also offering feedback!

I certainly agree that there are some places that we could have a bit more polish, but due to this being a game jam game, I think we're going to leave it where it is.

If we do go back and fix it up we will be sure to send you a message =]

Oh wow, this is all great stuff, thanks for the resources!  I followed Dylan Bennett's tutorial this morning and created a small desert adventure game - all of this stuff looks like it's a pretty ideal next step. =]

Hey y'all!

I'm Tyler, a solo dev and student.  I saw this jam and thought it was a really cute idea!  Does anybody out there have any good tutorials for Pico8 beginners?  I've used Unity in the past, but I've never worked with Pico8 (or Lua) so I'm just trying to make sure I have some base knowledge of how the whole thing works before the jam actually starts!
