For me it happens right away, it just starts flickering, I don't have a second monitor so I didn't try it.
I thought overlays might be the issue so I disabled all of them and it didn't fix it.
So if PPUX already runs with V-Sync off it might just be a G-Sync Issue, with it off everything works great! 

Same issue, the program looks like its being minimized and reopened and calms down once focus goes to another window.

I turned off V-sync and G-sync for the program in my nvidia panel and it worked
