I was trying it on a slightly lower end laptop so it might be hardware related! I can try tomorrow on a better PC and see how it goes. I really feel like with some minor tweaks you genuinely have a great game here. I don't typically play the style of game but I would absolutely help with playtesting if you keep developing it

We definitely plan on putting a death animation in the post jam version of the game we just didn't have time to make something that would look really good. Having just the death audio was a compromise for time during the jam but we have a LOT of really good plans for the future of the game. We absolutely 1000% appreciate the feedback and you trying it out!
A death animation is definitely in the cards for the post jam version of the game when we have more time to make it look just right. And the audio issue is definitely hardware related. It does it on my laptop broswer that is super old and jank but it doesn't do it on my wife's PC that is really good. Oddly enough I did all the coding on the laptop and the downloadable version of the game runs fine it's just the browser for some reason lol. We plan on making the ramps/death obstacles more distinct as well because you're definitely not the first person to note it! Thank you so much for playing!
I experienced the same issues sometimes too and I'm not sure what the cause is but I think it's hardware related (it only happens to me on my ancient laptop). Hopefully it's something I can fix in the post jam version that we are going to work on. It's definitely worth downloading the computer version to experience the music because each level has an original custom track made by our sound guy and they're fire IMO. Thank you for playing the game 1000%!
The original very first version had jumping but it almost made it too easy and lead to some inconsistent controls because it's all physics based downhill movement instead of the traditional movement where the player is stationary and the world moves around you. I took it out and added a handful of ramps (the post jam version will have a LOT more variants) and it felt way better and added to the feeling of control. Thank you for playing and enjoying it! We wanted to make a point of having the game be as playable as possible so we're going to ultimately implement every type of control we can manage down to gyro controls. I'd like this game to be playable on a samsung smart fridge if possible lol.
You definitely need to keep developing this game and finish it because similar to fidget spinners in real life I really didn't see the point until I started and I got completely hooked. I think with tweaked incremental mechanics and more than a single in game day it genuinely could be a hit. I know I would definitely play it personally because it would be great for a chatting stream game.
The chunk sets for each "zone" are identical and each variant is atmospherically themed differently based on the original music that our sound guy makes. We plan on having multiple different "zones" in the final version of the game but for the sake of time during the jam we just went with one chunk set that we call "Muddy Hill" the next two we have planned are "Gridlock Grind" and "Macabre Maps" but we have SO MANY more ideas for chunk set styles and variants and they will definitely go up in difficulty I think. Muddy Hill is for sure going to be the easiest
Cute concept for sure but the controls need a complete rework and maybe the camera follow distance. The terrain and geometry is a bit spotty as well. I'd say it's a decent prototype for the idea and it has the foundation of something super fun. Don't stop working on it and refine it some more and you'll have something great.
Tested it and I LOVE the concept! If you're going to keep making this after the jam and need some music I've got a friend who would probably be more than happy to help! My ONLY note is that the delay from the song ending to the score popping up is a little bit long and the notes could be mapped a LITTLE bit better but everything else about it is fantastic. I love your mixed medium art style and will definitely play this again.
Great game! Aside from some spelling errors at the beginning (You used You're when you should have used your) it was a really great submission to the game jam! I think this game has a lot of potential and the concept for reloading and healing is SUPER fun! Keep up the good work and keep working on this game after the jam because you could have a hit here!
Overall this concept has a LOT of potential if you keep working on it and go in the right direction. Gameplay is fun. Audio could use some variation in the drill sound so it doesn't get insane when you add the drills. Also maybe making the initial time limit shorter so you have to upgrade the time limit because I unlocked all the drills after my first timer and was suddenly OP. Super fun though and great work for a game jam game.
My only unsolicited recommendation is to maybe add an animation for the fast drop so it zips really quickly instead of the instant teleport style and maybe smoothing the rotation a little bit so it feels a BIT less snappy. Like it's swinging around to the new position a bit more than snapping to it. Overall though it was super super fun and I wish you loads of success
I have genuinely never in my life enjoyed a Tetris style game. It doesn't matter the flavor or spin (pun intended) that they've been given. That said: I had a TON of fun playing this! Legitimately a fresh concept and it fits the concept of the Jam to the letter. This has a TON of potential to actually catch on with Tetris fans if even a guy like me that doesn't enjoy the gameplay style had a good time playing it.
I don't know if I've ever heard of it but I'll have to check it out! We were heavily inspired by the old downhill ski game and another one of my projects with a rolling ball as the playable character.
(EDIT: JUST LOOKED UP SLOPE AND IT LOOKS AWESOME! Definitely can see why you were reminded because it is a very similar concept but their design choice is pretty lit! I love that retro line art style any time I see it.)
Me and two friends decided to start a little indie studio/group and make submitting a game to this jam our first ever project we did together. So we put out Rolando: Spinnin is Winnin as the first game from Pickled Egg Studio https://badnamesgames.itch.io/rolando-spinnin-is-winnin is up for playtesting now since the core gameplay loop is there. We're still crunching to add stuff but it's playable and fun now! We would really appreciate some feedback if anyone has any! All assets, code and music were made after the concept for the jam was announced in house by Shenk and Timbo Johnson and all music was made in house by Cryptid Cabal.

Had an absolute BLAST playing this game! The vibe and story are spectacular. The tank controls are intuitive and work with the fixed camera angles to add extra tension to the gameplay. Sound design is spectacular and creepy. Very few bugs experienced and the ones I did experience were IMMEDIATELY addressed by the dev and fixed. Check out my gameplay here (I didn't spoil the ending so you can experience it yourself) and consider supporting the dev.
