Awesome, I'm glad you liked what I made. :D I think you make a good point about the themes that I hadn't consciously considered before.

To answer your question, I wasn't thinking about Bloodborne when making it, but FromSoft's games course through my veins so it tends to bleed through everything I do anyways (pun intended). I'm not surprised at all to hear that.

When I was making this I was primarily thinking of Angel's Egg, Mushishi, and the Minecraft soundtrack. But even still the story is kind of similar to Dark Souls 3, and some people said it gives OneShot vibes. (I never played OneShot, all similarities there are entirely coincidental.)

Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed this little game & derived something of value from it, it's really the best feeling ever to know that something I made has been enjoyed by somebody. Thank you a million for playing my game & sending this post! Cheers~

The stat change doesn't have any real meaning to the gameplay, it's just some narrative flavor, and the closest thing to a "reward" that I can provide in this game.

The issue with the scroll is actually somewhere else, as it should only be possible to obtain just one. It comes from the Briar Seed item not being consumed when given to the campfire NPC.

I just released an update to the game. In the update I released today, I actually solved that problem. The Briar Seed item is now consumed when given. If you are still somehow able to possess both scrolls, the event will now alternate between the ones you read.

As a side note, I'm shocked anyone actually made it there, or noticed the other details! Nice job, my friend.

Woah, I'm surprised you found all of that!

There is one more hidden place to find, where the four stones are to be used...
