Thank you for playing our game and leaving such great feedback!
We are aware of the bug with the fate loop card and some other cards. We tried our best but time got the best of us. (Ironic isn't it?) Same goes with the layout and readability of the cards. We were so focused on getting all of the features to work (well, trying to) that weren't able to address that issue. If I could go back and fix one issue with the whole game it would probably be the readability.
As for the difficulty, we did the best balancing we could with the time given. While it might seem easy, especially if you pay attention to the gameplay, making a game to hard definitely would have shot us in the foot. In our opinion it's better to have a game where everyone has a chance to win rather than one where no one can.
And on top of all of that, block not being displayed is honestly just an oversight on our end.
Thank you again for playing, enjoying, and thoroughly evaluating our game! It means the world to our whole team. We wish you the best!
Fun game, but I wish the tracks were shorter. 6 minutes for one track where you basically do the same thing over and over is pushing it. I really like the idea tho. Also kind of wish you incorporated the rhythm aspect more. Like the hits being more on beat and there being repercussions for missing a beat. Still fun tho!
For game concept this is actually one of my favorites so far! It fits the theme and it's fun to play. It kinda reminds me of a mix of Undertale battles and those troll games where you have to fail a few times to understand the routes. I really wish there were some menus and an in game reset button but this is really impressive, good work!
Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
I'm really glad that you enjoyed our game! Right before we submitted we tweaked the difficulty of the game so it's good to know that it isn't too easy. You are definitely right about the UI though. Unfortunately our artist had work the last day of the jam and couldn't finish the main menu UI, but they still pulled through a lot for the in-game graphics.
Thanks again!
I really like this, very impressive for 4 days of work. I wish the text somehow more obvious, like turning the text box into a pop up that you x out of at the beginning of each round. I got stuck on the dash one for a little bit because I hadn't noticed its introduction in the chat box. Overall great game!
I enjoyed your game. This kinda mechanic for fighting is new to me so I enjoyed it. However I don't see any spin aspect asides from being a ball. The audio definitely needs some work aswell but I wasn't very focused on it while playing. It'd be a nice addition to add a healthbar to the enemies as I felt like I was doing a lot but I couldn't tell how close I was to beating them. Really fun game though.
I really like the art for this game. The idea also fits the theme of "serious" game really well. My only thing is that asides from having a button to spin in your chair I don't think there is much spinning to win. I might be missing something gameplay wise but it kinda feels like the spin was thrown in as an afterthought. I think making the mini game on the computer spinning related could solve this issue. Still a fun game though, good job!
I really liked this! The art, audio, and sfx all worked together really well. I feel like the game itself doesn't play into the spin theme as much. Maybe having the spinning grimoire being more interactive between rounds would elevate the experience. With a bit more polish though this would be a really fun endless game!
