very true and since it’ll go from a team project to me solo working on it that’ll be a disadvantage for me for sure

I think it would be unfair for me to rate this game cause it just returns a network error when I try playing :(

the Jam game I want to to polish is super recent and I’ve just been waiting for the Voting to conclude, but I wonder if since the other Jam had a heavy focus on polish does that give me an unfair advantage?

glad you liked it, I plan on reworking it some after the Jam and will take your tips into consideration!

Thank you glad you liked it!!

definitely a bug I haven’t experienced, as for the arrow keys after the time was up one of my first thoughts was that on all the menus I considered all the  common keyboard inputs to make the controls simply whatever a player might think they were but I forgot to make arrow key based movement an option. Thanks for playing glad you liked it

glad you liked it! Would’ve liked to have more enemies in it late game, however it had an issue with suddenly dropping frames significantly so I had to cap it, and yeah I was personally tossed up on maybe we should have allowed all the elemental arrows to be used simultaneously or maybe just not pop up the options for the mutually exclusive ones so that players don’t accidentally reset their progress at all

yes so sorry I wasn’t entirely sure how to size it on the itch end, I have corrected the window size though

glad you enjoyed it! I do want to update it potentially after the voting period to get some features we missed and maybe solve some existing issues, Idk if it would get any more original, since it’s  pretty over saturated genre,  but I definitely had some features I really wanted in the finished product

Totally agree it needs more enemies, was having a hard time with the browser build dropping to 5 fps after more than 150 enemies were spawned in so for performance reasons I capped how many could exist at a time, I’d like to spend some time solving that issue after the voting period, glad you enjoyed it otherwise!

I’m sorry you experienced some performance issues :( so far it’s loaded fine for me every time, I’m considering updating it after the Jam to Polish it more and add the things we didn’t get to, any specific points of polish you’d personally like to see?

was playing the web version,  and it was supposed to do the next "cutscene" where hes miming out what he wants instead got a black rectangle, and it didn't go away even after the "cutscene"

was very cool concept, experienced it getting lower frames with each level

Loved the game, got a bug where a black rectangle was drawn over 90% of the screen halfway through unfortunately but loved it while it lasted

this has been one of my favorites so far! would love to see more! Maxed out everything. the only criticism I could possibly think of is that the early game ramp felt a little slow, I still enjoyed it very much

Very unique! pretty intuitive, very difficult

there's a spot on the page that says join the discord, however I see no link connected to it?

I have a really strong idea I think and would love a collab, I don't work great with other programmers (mostly cause I'm self taught and write spaghetti code that works well and others tend to take a more professional approach to writing code) but I work really well with others otherwise, if anyone is interested in being a part of my team please reach out!

Really like the aesthetic would love to see a full length game by you

pretty good for your first game

Great game! if I was to change anything it would be adding the added challenge of not being allowed to shoot yourself, and some sort of indicator for the path of the projectile more than just direction of the arm. but overall great game

this is my favorite game so far, makes it funny reading "pretty bad" in the description XD I've never been any good at scratch so this is impressive to me

cool gameplay and a pretty funny take on the theme. couldn't pass the 3rd level though XD

Yeah I had thought about that but didn't have time to go back and switch it, I appreciate your feedback!

Thank you I've never done something in so little time and got worried it would be trash, but I think some more work after the Jam period it could be lots of fun and be more aesthetically pleasing.

I know that premade assets are allowed but am questioning the scope of that, for example if I have some code laying around that would work for setting some ground work is that usable or does my code have to start entirely from scratch? I also asked in the discord but realized this is probably the better place to ask questions

thank you very helpful!

First question: is this Jam open to everyone?

Second question: is there any engine requirements?

Thank you

although the timer requires you to get better at typing so I kinda like i

if you select easy the sword isn't an option though in my opinion it's pretty easy to win either way

very difficult but I like the idea

pretty cool idea, I was a little confused on the objective at first though

I have two submissions

https://awkwardninja.itch.io/big-trouble-in-little-toilet-town

https://awkwardninja.itch.io/20-seconds-to-survive

feel free to check out either or both

Thanks for the feedback When the Idea came up I thought it would be perfect for the jam

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

it's hard making something super complex with a restriction of 20 second gameplay XD

what's the license for these?
