pretty good for your first game

Great game! if I was to change anything it would be adding the added challenge of not being allowed to shoot yourself, and some sort of indicator for the path of the projectile more than just direction of the arm. but overall great game

this is my favorite game so far, makes it funny reading "pretty bad" in the description XD I've never been any good at scratch so this is impressive to me

cool gameplay and a pretty funny take on the theme. couldn't pass the 3rd level though XD

Yeah I had thought about that but didn't have time to go back and switch it, I appreciate your feedback!

Thank you I've never done something in so little time and got worried it would be trash, but I think some more work after the Jam period it could be lots of fun and be more aesthetically pleasing.

I know that premade assets are allowed but am questioning the scope of that, for example if I have some code laying around that would work for setting some ground work is that usable or does my code have to start entirely from scratch? I also asked in the discord but realized this is probably the better place to ask questions

NINJAM community · Created a new topic unfortunate update

I was making good progress, but due to some personal issues haven't been able to work on my game over the last week and might run out of time to finish it before I'm either able to access the pc I was making it on or to somehow get it it on git to work on it from the pc I'm on at the moment, if not I'll still post the game after the jam period.

Yes thank you I was looking at some and felt I might be able to pull some inspiration from them, specifically was drawn to legend of Kage and thought I could do something in a similar tone but with potentially improved gameplay mechanics and updated graphics

NINJAM community · Created a new topic question on theme

few days late to seeing the jam but thought it sounded interesting, was wondering on how far we can reimagine something, or how closely does it have to resemble it's inspiration, I'm not well versed with ninja games from the 80's so it would be a bit harder to match something for me I feel.

thank you very helpful!

First question: is this Jam open to everyone?

Second question: is there any engine requirements?

Thank you

although the timer requires you to get better at typing so I kinda like i

if you select easy the sword isn't an option though in my opinion it's pretty easy to win either way

very difficult but I like the idea

pretty cool idea, I was a little confused on the objective at first though

I have two submissions

https://awkwardninja.itch.io/big-trouble-in-little-toilet-town

https://awkwardninja.itch.io/20-seconds-to-survive

feel free to check out either or both

Thanks for the feedback When the Idea came up I thought it would be perfect for the jam

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

it's hard making something super complex with a restriction of 20 second gameplay XD

what's the license for these?

I definitely will, currently making a simple color version too, which may not end up being used, just had the idea that it could end in color, but we'll see!

I see I'm a little late to the party, I'm going to use this for a game Jam it's inspiring some Ideas! Thanks for the great art!

How much of an idea do you need? have you started the game? I can try to help you out some.

Sorry for the wait to anyone who was following my Game, but I've posted an update on the Game page with where I've been and a time frame for the first Demo release. Thanks to anyone who may have taken an interest.

If you’re open to a little advice, from someone who has hundreds of unfinished projects for similar reasons, just make something for now and worry about the details later, you’ll burn yourself out of you focus too hard on one thing

should we publish our WIPs or just wait until it done/ready to submit

Thank You! It helps a lot.

Im trying to make sure I understand all the challenges, can you clarify what exactly you mean by "meta" and are the Holidays limited? does it have to be for a holiday that everyone knows?
