I'll put my two cents here since it seems most comments out here are people e-begging for Steam keys just because they feel like they are entitled to them for early support, or expressing similar feels

While sure, it would make sense to add a discount or something of the sorts to early supporters or even a Steam copy(and I'm partially in that camp), one needs to understand Mike Klubnika would be most likely violating Steam Keys Rules & Guidelines, more importantly that this would be deemed as Itch buyers getting a better deal than those who are buying the game on Steam release. (not anymore since the game was adjusted to $3 here too, but still applies to those who got it for $1.20, including myself). Also, since Mike is not self-publishing the game but rather releasing it under the publishing label of Critical Reflex, I think it's fair to assume they have a say in generating Steam keys as well.

Another point I'll address is the price change or ideology of 'not having to buy the game twice' - you guys are literally ragging to get a Steam key worth $3, and the argument of living in poorer countries is not really a point either, because if you cannot afford $3 for a game, then I question your ability to afford a $1.20 game, which means you may have bigger problems to handle if that's the case. If this was something like a $20 or even a $10 game I'd agree on the idea of getting a Steam key as it'd suck to buy the game twice, but if that were the case not only I would've considered not buying the game for that price but previous reasons would still apply(violation of Steam rules + publisher possibly having a say).

Similar argument comes for feature parity between Itch and Steam versions. Assuming the developer even wishes to make them compatible, that would mean adding and linking another platform between both versions, whereas focusing the efforts towards the Steam version having these features would be a lot easier since Steamworks simplifies the process a lot.

Anyway, that's my two cents about this. Congratulations to Mike Klubnika for the success of this game, and I'll be eagerly waiting to see how the multiplayer mode plays out!
