oh i haven't played the other meditation ones yet! i'll be sure to soon! and i never ran into any softlocks involving the door warps, but i'll test some more!

here's the song too!

finally got the time to play this last night and it was pretty fun :3

i like the atmosphere and the music is pretty nice,  but at least for me the hypnotism this time wasn't as effective as it was in mezma's revenge or dr. voldritch's experiment, but it still left me feeling relaxed so i'm happy! i'd say the main issue with it was just the visuals being a lot more subdued, specifically the spiral, so it was easier for someone like me to get distracted with other parts of the screen and dr. voldritch's big square nose which i love dearly (i chose to do the induction in the alien world, though i'm not sure if there would've been a different one if you chose not to do it there)

i also really like the voices given to each character when you talk to them, they're very silly, especially with the slight bitcrunch they have, and especially when you make one voice stack over itself if you interact with the character fast enough

the 3 biggest glitches i noticed were how when walking through a door (i only ever noticed this with doors facing north and south), if you walked into the door for a second and then interact with it, you would warp to either the top or the bottom of the collision on the next screen (starting from the origin or center of the map). then also when walking parallel to collision, if you begin walk diagonally into it, your movement gets canceled overall, whereas in other games, walking diagonally into collision would just cancel the vector moving perpendicular to the wall, and keeping the other vector unaffected. and finally, this being way more common in top down rpgs than the other two, is that when moving in the four cardinal directions, you move 1 unit n per frame, but moving diagonally doesn't move you the same distance of 1n, and instead moves you the square root of 2n per frame. this way of movement i do like because i like going fast, but the diagonal walking into collision glitch conflicts with that, so for me, it does make movement around the overworld sort of a pain but it wasn't that big of a deal

i do like this game still! and i'd love to see more of the top down rpg system in these as i think it can work great when mixed with the actual hypnotism :3

also right after the game i challenged myself to write a song while still under the effects of the hypnotism and it actually worked really well, i finished the song just under two hours later and it's one of my favorite songs i've written so far so thank you bloof

i played through this whole thing with my friend a couple nights ago and we loved it

tell others about this

penguin push

aw yeah another hypnotism experience is ready i'm so excited !! been waiting so long since mezma's revenge and i bet this game is yet another improvement!

i don't understand what everyone else is saying i think i played the wrong game

this was a big ol buggy mess that made me and my friendly friend laugh very much

(1 edit)

despite getting both endings i can't help but feel like i'm missing so much lmao

like what is this virus?! where did it come from?! what kinda world is this?! why did the .iso file die because the fda's brother died?! why does touhou 7 - perfect cherry blossom look like she hasn't gotten sleep in years?!

i would love to see a larger version of this game and world, even if there's not extra gore or massacring, i just wanna see where the heck this all started and where the heck it's gonna go

though considering the game's artstyle i was very surprised by the gore when it did happen, it was so much more realistic than i ever thought it could be, it felt like i could smell the blood from here it was that shocking (but i'm not complaining i did download this game for a reason after all)

i hope you enjoy the names i gave to the characters here, i'd say my favorite character by design is touhou 7 - perfect cherry blossom, but followed by the ouya, the .iso file, and then the FDA

fun little point & click game, took me a bit less than an hour to beat but it reminded me a lot of shivers on DOS, especially because of the atmosphere, being brought to a second room honestly surprised me but i liked it a lot!

i've played this game every so often since release and i've discovered a glitch (even though it probably won't be patched out any time soon with the rate of updates lmao)

if the only keys left in the entire game are the infirmary key and the exit key (both of which are always in set positions) and a game of rock paper scissors is triggered, if you win, saiko's AI completely softlocks and she freezes

this was discovered on normal mode, i don't know if it's consistent with other modes

i've seen a few humans before and i'm pretty sure their arms are above their waists

i played through this as my friend recommended it to me because i play a lot of horror games on itch.io, and...eh? i don't really see the appeal..great in concept absolutely! i love a setting like that in horror..but honestly the game is just so, so slow to go through- i never felt any tension throughout the game and there was just nothing to keep me in it..some may call it slow burn, but to me i just felt no burn at all

BUT, i'd say that's all for if you're going for both endings, it is not worth it to trudge through the game for both endings, i'd say go for only the good ending (not taking the pills), as it was way more interesting and fun, plus the dream for that ending actually gave me some of that itch.io horror anxiety i was looking for! the bad ending is just way too vague, and as i went for that one first, i was just confused until i had my friend explain it..and then i was just uncomfortable-

i am excited for what the dev has next in store, but this game..it is a first attempt at psychological horror, and it really shows, but the good ending i'd say is worth a playthrough if you've an extra 45 minutes!

bonus: there's a glitch in the freerunner minigame where if you get hit by an enemy under certain circumstances (i'm unsure what the circumstances are, but it's pretty lenient), you can move out of bounds of the kidpad and beat every single level for free (however you're unable to replay freerunner once you've beaten it, you'd have to reset the game)

(1 edit)

muhahaha i see i am not the only one to be hyperfixated on these fellas! (note i still have no idea what to do with this guy CFVGYFTYUUJG i am dead but i will keep on and on drawing them until they are perfect for me >:3

edit:i know i keep coming back here i'mso sorry if it's weird (again hyperfixation)

aww yeah! this game deserves the attention! i'm excited to play through the cut ending when it gets added back in! however i will say- i think this game was an omen lmao

i originally said that i was happy my parents had an alright reaction to me coming out as nonbinary and telling them i go by a different name (except my stepdad) but literally ONE NIGHT after playing this game and making that comment, things get bad at my house...my parents claiming that it was my choice to be this way, and so i have to take all the blame for when like my stepdad gets mad about it, and that me saying getting deadnamed really hurts is really unfair to them and "immature"...and then i got sick

but ehhh it was worth it i love this game and the main character design..and messing around with it to make it my own..

i generally don't care too much about eldritch horror, but this game really got me to play it through to the end..i love just how empty it feels, vivian slowly going mad about a random spot in the sky

the art was great and it all being a different aspect ratio from your average monitor just made it feel more special in a way

the sound effects during the binocular segment were great and i wish i had like..a creepy ambient ost from it

i will say though, i was very confused by the ending

i play a lot of visual novels on itch.io (like a lot a lot) and i gotta say this is one of my favorites for the idea alone, plus this is one of the few i've played where the mc doesn't fall into the same personality as so many other visual novel devs make! you know..where like..they're more stoic and usually have adverse reactions to things..like if squidward were the main character- this one felt more interesting! but maybe that's just the whole. thing that happened i dunno

i'm super excited to draw them in my ideas..i make a lot of characters in general but heck i haven't had ideas for such an interesting one such as this- i will draw them so much..

of course!! this is something i simply couldn't pass up on..

i might just well do that! i understand you left it vague so people of all sorts experiencing this issue can just make the mc their own and relate to it more, and what i had in mind for em, well heck i'd wake up any day as that! and yes my forensics teacher would have a heart attack when he sees the word "chitinous" and "pupa"

sorry if i ramble a lot i get very hyper around these sorta things..totally awesome mc design even if it is vague...

thiis..was a great time! i even played through the ending you warned me about..but i held my hand in front of the screen so i can only see the text when going for it
other than that..i really liked it! as someone who's nonbinary and does very often experience dysphoria, i'm happy my parents didn't have such a bad reaction when i came but i still know how it feels from how others have been to me (plus my stepdad is conservative so. woo)

looking at it outside of the metaphor, i still find this concept really really cool!!

maisie is so wonderful she has the swag and the heart of a true swagster

dad at least means well even if his heart isn't in the right place so i'll give him a pass

mom. i'm not giving her the honor of words

this is totally stuff i'd wanna see more of..i dunno where it'd go, but still! and god i would KILL to see more of whatever in tarnation you wake up as because if the (half) face and the hands are anything to go by it would sure kick some real ass

edit: my forensics teacher would love this game, when we were in our entomology unit he tried so hard to show that yes, bugs have chitin exoskeletons, tried so hard that it felt like he was trying to prove to us that he knew rather than just teaching us entomology lmao

this is a game i really really wanna play, but i'm noticing a content warning of insect imagery..now that i can cope with, but i get serious panic attacks if i even see an image of a cockroach (even just typing the word feels super uncomfortable) so iiii am too scared to play in case something like that happens :3

(1 edit)

i. LOVE this. the whole devon being a stalker thing really got me by surprise..and the foreshadowing with the stories all four of the major characters tell too..it was great-

and i would absolutely live with lucy and mandy, even if i had to get my own eye stabbed out first...and as much as i would love to see garbage truck, i don't trust a man whose nose is basically just a straight line...and also when i saw lucy go into her real form for the first time it made me immediately think of luigi's mansion so that's another point to mandy and lucy

plus the story of three friends living together literally inside one of the friends..and one of the other ones almost got murdered with their eye taken out...that'd make for a great sitcom!

edit: devon can eat my farts for all i care that guy is probably stinker than trick's blood

i think you really need some content warnings here. i know you say your definition of sfw is a bit stretched (and by god it is), but mentions to rape, hentai, tentacle porn, and bondage can all make some people extremely uncomfortable, and content warnings can help garner the wanted demographic for your games, and warn people who are sensitive to that kind of stuff. either that, or don't put it on an account labeled "sfw", because labeling a game like this as safe for work can be pretty dangerous

this game is simply so good it nearly crashed when i tried closing it

a fun little time :3

short and sweet and especially silly (zack is just a little quirky) i enjoyed getting bonked especially (getting bonked is real)

i'd love to see some part 2's to these endings, specifically seeing a sequel to either zack bonking you and taking you home or getting eachother's numbers, those'd be great games

A GOOD OL TIME spider is cool :3 (friemd)

it tickled my adhd brain enough (especially when i found out i could pet spider). at first, i felt pretty neutral to Spider's design, just like "oh" and i left it at that but the more i got through the game the more it grew on me (especially the hallucination one having multiple sets of eyes is just such an underrated thing). i also really like the special textboxes when you type spider or spiders in the prompts

i do think each ending is fairly anticlimactic and kinda unsatisfying, but they're not bad and definitely not deal breakers for playing this game, i just think they end a bit too early before a satisfying conclusion

also there was a glitch where during one playthrough, the game just kinda forgot a lot of the things that happened before (like when spider unties the player, then i pressed observe and the game said i couldn't look around much as i was still bound to the chair) but it only happened during one playthrough for me

overall though, if you like clicking a button and reading silly text while looking at a silly girl then this game is right up your alley

pretty nice game, the memes are there but not overbearing, and the whole puzzle was actually pretty interesting

there's no message shown before it crashes, it just closes with no warning...

and thanks for letting me make a fellow, i made this absolute fluffer :3 he would get along great with vance, they would absolutely go to a grandpa clothing convention

i guess i never noticed what the sanity meter changed outside of endings..but i'm gonna have my friend play through it soon and so ii guess i'll find out! either way i absolutely love the game and hope to see more of it...

VERY AWESOME GAME i love this so much

i love how the very first choice gives such different results at the end (especially the tea. what kinda tea is that.)

vance is the love of my life i want to be with him forever despite the headaches (v characters are always so cool, varai from loveless biker boys (another great visual novel) was an absolute joy as well)

i wish to see so much more of this stuff, and i hope this game gets some sort of sequel, the idea of a character like vance only being apparent while sleep deprived is amazing and i really wanna make my own character based off vance (if that's okay uyghedsrf)

there was one glitch, however, the secret for the unused kiss description crashes the game, like you click on it, the text appears for like 3 frames, then the game crashes, and i had to get a really well timed screenshot to read it

one issue i have with the game is how underused the sanity and wakefulness meter is, they're used in only like 2 bad endings, and outside of that there's really no point to them, i would love to see them used to change how the protagonists views or reacts to things, like making certain specific choices to get each meter to certain high or low thresholds changes what happens in the path you're in

oh well, have fun fran the pope one hundred twenty-three

i dunno man, i completely agree this game isn't good and is the definition of such

but at least defend your point instead of making fun of the way someone types lmfao

the phrase "this game is good?" is completely acceptable in english, it's a colloquial shortening of "this game is good, no?", and similarly conveys that the speaker already has their own opinion on this game, while also inviting others to share their own opinions

also, who are you to comment on others' grammar when you used the indefinite article "a" for the words "eight year old"? it's "an 8 year old", not "a 8 year old"

if you're still taking custom characters, i would like to suggest a few myself..however, the discord id in the description didn't wor

i played this one while my friend was in the room watching, and i gotta say this game gave us a good laugh a few times

the level design is very straightforward, and while inherently basic most of the time, it's all still coherent and a nice distraction for 15 to 20 minutes, however, the camera does feel a bit too zoomed in at points, and makes for some leaps of faith, such as in the jungle level and final level

i like how only twenty coins are needed for a one up, as it works really well with the short levels

the final boss did have a pretty bad lag spike at one moment, but it was pretty fun for what the game was

the game controls pretty well, but the fact that you slide a bit when stopping did make some of the one block platforming a bit jarring

the visuals are nothing to write home about, but me and my friend found it very funny that the player graphics are literally just pictures of who i can only assume is elijah himself, and the final boss graphics are of who i can only assume is a sibling that you got to help with the game

also, the UI at the top of the screen going transparent when you jump up there is a really nice touch and is very welcomed

it's a pretty good distraction for what it is, but replaying it (or playing the challenge mode) definitely isn't at the top of my to-do list

also, my friend wanted me to ask you if he can remake this game in super mario maker 2 because he thinks it would be funny

i think other than the speed change, i think adding more types of obstacles would make the levels a lot more interesting, and if used during the bryce mode, would make it so you wouldn't have to rely and making just more precise versions of the first ten levels

for example, what if there were objects that are also affected by your gravity? it could lead to some interesting puzzles, where you have to control gravity to get a certain block to some area while not dying yourself, or trying to avoid a block that would kill you on contact, or maybe orbs with more ways to move than just back and forth, such as moving in patterns and such

or if you don't wanna add anything new (considering this is only a test), then i would just say decrease the acceleration, and make the levels in bryce mode less cluttered, by removing some of the unnecessary spikes, timed platforms, and orbs, any way to still make it harder than normal mode, but still enjoyable to play

thanks for understanding my problems and criticisms, i hope the bigger game you're working on will be great :3

(1 edit)

i really want to like this game, i think its use of gravity changing mechanics is unique, and i've never seen it much before, but unfortunately, i just can't enjoy this game past the first level, the level design is way too precise for how much acceleration you have when changing gravity, you seriously fall like a brick, but the level design is way too strict to complement that

i don't mind the story being short, as it's really only used to explain the why the latter half of the game is just harder versions of the original levels, but it just feels like padding when actually playing them, especially because again, the level design simply doesn't work with the controls

i was only able to beat bryce mode because of pause buffering, as you are still able to switch your gravity while paused, but it just still wasn't very fun

there weren't many interesting mechanics outside of 4 way gravity switching, and the timed platforms are annoying, especially because they're used so often with the moving orbs, meaning if you don't time your landing on the platform perfectly, the orb will be in your way for too long, and you die, unless you constantly mash away and back towards the platform to reset the timer (which was also inconsistent due to how great your acceleration is when switching gravity, and so i really only did this trick while pause buffering)

this game had an interesting concept, but simply didn't go deep enough with it to make interesting mechanics and obstacles, and was overall executed poorly

i really hope this game gets updated to fix these issues, but as of now, i wouldn't recommend this game, it's too inconsistent and fast for how precise it is, and the second half the game just feels unnecessary and lazy, with nothing really rewarding at the end

for how simplistic this game is, and how the enemies only gravitate toward you and so don't really pose much of a threat, all i can say is that this is really just a fine distraction for a few minutes, but unfortunately not much more than that

what?! you got early access?!1

some spoilers start in a couple paragraphs, so watch out

this was a really nice game, no other way to put it, the setting change from the first part to the second part was jarring, but not jarring enough to take me out of the experience

the story was very nicely put together as the game went on, from us not knowing much about how we got to this world, but slowly figuring everything out

the twist with linda definitely got me, and added very nice tension, however the first chase with her does feel a bit too long, especially considering you need to rely on a random teleport to even complete it (at least from the several attempts i had to do for it)

i was originally gonna say that the ouija board itself was a bit underplayed, until i realized that at the option to burn the board or not was basically skipped over for me, as the game registered a spacebar press effectively one frame after the option appeared, and i just thought you burning it was scripted

the gore and deaths, while not at all the goriest things i've seen, are very scary and gruesome in the context they're presented in, and makes all the bad endings feel so much worse

the timed events were fun and stressful, especially as someone who's played a lot of metroid and mario & luigi superstar saga (which also has a timed escape sequence for whatever reason)

the true ending was very heartwarming, and i got very flustered when dan said he wanted to protect his cute boyfriend

nitpicks/problems (mostly just stuff i found funny and not actually bad)

i think the animations for the characters are a bit odd, to me, everyone looks a bit lanky and the animations look rigid (however all the full screen pieces during the endings are really well done and don't look off), but i guess you can't really do much about that considering the fact it's effectively a 16 bit top down rpg

i did find the random teleporting a bit annoying sometimes, but i guess i can't really complain about it since you could just always turn it off

there were a couple glitches i found, one being that the final cutscene on the roof had a problem where the camera might move too far to the left, meaning you can't see anything except aiden and part of the circle, and one glitch where after a cutscene, your speed becomes very high, and it made the final linda chase really funny

but overall, this was a really great game, and i'd love to see these guys again some time :3
