thank you for the feedback! I was trying to figure out how to make some asteroid patterns towards the end of the jam build but I didn't have enough time to learn what I needed to to pull it off! If I do a further revision I want to include fire patterns for sure!

Hey Roger! Fellow KFBF/game dev hobbyist here! So keep in mind with my feedback, I only have one more game under my belt than y'all, and while my second game felt way better, my first one was nowhere near this nice!

This is a great first game from you guys! The art, sound design, music, and vibes are all really good. My biggest piece of feedback would be to look for ways to add more "feedback" for player actions. The gameplay loop makes sense and I like the progression, you can really feel the upgrades increasing your energy generation, but clicking the buttons don't really feel "meaty" enough, if that makes sense. Also it would be great if once you click the sun to trigger wind, it had a visual change, whether that be just a color change during the cooldown period or an actively updating cooldown graphic, just to help with gauging the timing of the wind.

Again, these are small nitpicky things, overall you guys did a great job! Would love to get your hands on my entry if you have a minute or two!

Hello fellow PICO-8 enjoyer! Loved the game! I am a huge puzzle fan so figuring out the levels was a lot of fun. I love the look you got with the blocks, made great use of PICO-8's palette! The only issue I've had is that when I completed a level, I got a you lose/game over screen instead of a win screen. Otherwise a super fun little game!

EDIT: hold on, it turns out I was misunderstanding part of the rules, I get it now! Love this game!!

Super cute game! Love the art! Had to take a little bit to get the hang of the timing but ended up winning!

Understandable, if it weren't for the time limit, I would have done more tinkering with the wormhole effect to make a less intense visual. Appreciate you trying out my game despite that!

Love the art/vibes of your game!! Such a great use of PICO-8's color palette!

ooh I'll check yours out! I love PICO-8!

yeah I tried to play with the effect a bit for the tunnel to make it less intense but it's hard to find the sweet spot 😅

thank you! PICO-8 has been a blast to learn on! I want to make more music with it and try for a more complex game next time!

Thank you so much! PICO-8 has been so much fun to learn in!

thanks! Yeah the hardest part was tuning the difficulty ramp. If I was doing it over again I might have a difficulty selection screen.

So fun! I love seeing other PICO-8 games, and yours was great! I like that the upgrade curve isnt too quick, you have to work for the good stuff. I made it to the moon!

I love seeing other PICO-8 games! This was such a cool idea! I think there's real potential for building out the wind mechanic and maybe finding some way to add more interactions/tasks into the gameplay (for example, if the windmill breaks and you need to grab a repair kit or something).  Great little game though, and especially great art!

Hey, a fellow PICO-8 dev! I love this! The concept is so creative and I had a fun time trying to lock in the orbit paths! I also love the sprite work on the ship!!

yeah I figured that out I just didn't think it was very intuitive since every other obstacle/enemy is overcome by using the arrow prompt. I'd maybe remove the arrow prompt from above the alligator

Hey, a fellow PICO-8 dev!! Love this, its such a cool concept! My only issue is that it was tricky for some of the fruit to tell which circle they were aligned with,  I'm guessing it's a thing where PICO-8's canvas is pretty limiting. SO cool though!

I love armadillos!! This game is such a fun little time, my only issue is that with the green, alligator-looking enemy, pressing the arrow key prompt didn't seem to do anything. I only survived by jumping over it completely. Fun game though!

I love the one-bit visuals! I also agree, it tickles my brain in the ADHD sweet spot. Idk if this was my computer or the game but my page broke after a few rounds of upgrading and throwing, but I love this!

Love the art and the concept, that first boss fight is brutal though. Would have loved a boss health bar so I could gauge my progress. I also would have liked to fight some "regular" enemies first to get comfy with the combat before facing a boss. Really cool game though, would definitely play a larger version!

Really cool and fun game! Would love if there were enemy health bars!

Hello people! I'm atr8des and this is my second ever game jam! I am content complete on my game Wormhole, and I'm looking for player feedback on what I could look into improving before the deadline of the Jam!

My game is made in PICO-8 and can be played here: https://atr8des.itch.io/wormhole

please let me know what you think and have fun!

you're welcome to check out my entry, Wormhole: https://atr8des.itch.io/wormhole

always open to feedback!

hello! My game is Wormhole: https://atr8des.itch.io/wormhole

I'd be psyched to have you try it out! My discord name is atr8des!

thanks for playing! Yeah this was my first attempt at a "finished" game, and my coding knowledge is very limited. I didn't have the time/know-how to address that but ideally, one could see it as a difficulty enhancer 😂 and in a way, it sort of plays into the illogical nature of cosmic horrors! But for a more polished project using these mechanics I definitely would have spent longer on studying how the mechanics work in practice haha

yeah I noticed early on when you crank up the parameters you get some funky waves! Thanks for playing!

so when that happens it means one of your values needs to be negative. I didn't think about it when I made the game initially but allowing positive and negative values introduces the opportunity of a "mirror wave" situation. I didn't have the time/know-how to avoid that scenario and maintain the full range of values 😅

Overall really liked this! The only issue I had is that it wasn't super clear to me at first what I was supposed to do when I opened up home defense. Great entry though!

The ending is a bit sudden but I love this! I can't believe this is Pico-8!! So impressive!

Thanks! This is the first time I've made a "complete" game instead of just segments or following tutorials. I thought it was a fun idea!

thanks! Having issues with a few things regarding game states but overall it's coming together!
