The target attack system was neat, you could do a lot with it!
Good luck for the jam!
This was really fun and addicting!
The visuals and colours were a joy to look at, the sprite work was really good, you really nailed the retro vibe. Also the music was top notch!!! The combat was quick and snappy!
Unfortunately, like others, the game froze just after the fight with the demon, I tried loading my save multiple times but it happened every time, such a shame, I hope I didn't miss too much content but I'm still quite happy with my experience.
It was weirdly satisfying to hear all the footstep sounds when I grew my party haha.
Good luck with the jam!!!
Wow this was great!
The music, atmosphere, and especially the sprite work was really good. The CGI sequences really threw me off guard those were a highlight for me for sure. The meat hooks that alerted the kitten were awesome mechanic! The only real critique I'd give is that it would be nice to have a dedicated flashlight button, it was kind of tedious to go turn it off/on quite often. But considering the time constraints it's a minor thing!
The game was pretty lenghty without feeling too drawn out. The story kept me interested without spelling everything out to me and kept me guessing. All in all, great work and good luck with the jam and your future projects!
Starting off I didn't expect much, but boy did I get proven wrong. Nice combo of fantasy and sci-fi vibes. I got very invested in the story and relationship between Grim and Martina. Almost cried at the ending... such a touching scene. I completed both of the endings and both were so emotional. The characters were written very well.
The Faruq fight was kind of annoying having to spam heals on Martina cuz Grim died, but that was probably just my luck. I imagine I would have had a more frustrating time if I didn't dodge all of the Silver Text enemies before the last bonfire.
Great work! Here is a meme I made of Faruqs living quarters.
The visuals were really polished, with the camera work in battles and the animations. Was really fun to make my own character in the beginning, and the area traversal system was a neat addition!
The fights were a bit too long with so many enemies per troop, and having to fight all of the myconids. After the myconids scene I was compelled to just dodge all enemies in the catacombs, and in the end I could just avoid all but one fight (the last one).
Overall great effort!
here's a speedrun of the game:
I got very invested in the story and would love to see more! The presentation from art to sounds/music is great. The gameplay was very unique, tho it took a little bit of getting used to/understanding what was going on and what happened at times.
When mother crabbed and dragged away my skill check text box, I was in awe and jumped out of my seat for being so hyped :D
A very unique and cool game. Would play again.
Hope you don't run into them. If you do, sry <3
A very charming game with amazing sprite work (the Coalbuster fighter sprite is immaculate!).
Was lacking in the sound/music department, especially in the non-fight scenes. The cave bandit camp part went on for too long, especially when there were so many enemies rushing you and it was impossible to dodge them.
I could use corpses as barricades, so that no enemies could get to me, that was funny.
Overall a great demo!
Congratulations on your first published game, great work!
