this is i think the most fun game ive played from this jam!! the dash mechanic is so satisfying-- love the slowdown and the way you can chain into things. Reminds me of ori's bash move from ori and the blind forest. my biggest comments would be that some of the hitboxes felt a little unfairly big and the movement without the dash felt a little clunky. overall i loved this though, great job!!!
Ohhhh I see I see-- totally get that inspiration! I think at least from my perspective it felt like I was on the customer service end rather than the customer end, so it felt like if I made a mistake interpreting what the customer wanted, I wanted to be able to undo my mistake or remove the piece of sushi. There was also kind of the funny aspect of realizing I messed up and having to submit the plate anyways which I did laugh about, but to me at least it felt like it conflicted slightly with the narrative.
As for other suggestions I think the only one would be that sometimes you're given two orders that are impossible to fill which can be frustrating. Maybe you'd be able to do a check before assigning an order to make sure it's possible with the current sushi available? Or if you add a way to discard/remove sushi from your plate, then you'd be able to refresh your options until you can fulfill the order.
Regardless of all that, it really is quite fun! Such an impressive amount and quality of work in such a short amount of time!
Yeah I completely agree with you! We weren't really able to playtest until the last day, so I absolutely think that the balance of adding wood versus light needs a lot of tweaking still to find the most rewarding gameplay loop. Finding that balance has definitely been one of the harder parts of this game for me at least. Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing!!
This is fantastic!! The art was so effective, the music was so hype. Mechanics were simple but fun. I wish the direction indicator was a bit more clear-- sometimes it felt like it was going the wrong way. I also wish my wife didn't divorce me at the end of this game, but there's only so much we can control in life.
