Yep! Just added a few. If you like it, leave a review and let me know how your game went!

These ideas all made me VERY excited!

I toyed around with some ideas for travel challenges in the core rules, but didn't want to bloat the rulebook too much. I'd love to see your take on the idea! That, and the idea of social resolution to conflict is also really cool!

8 new shells also sound amazing!

You know, some people from the RUNE community translated the original RUNE rules into a bunch of different languages; I bet that there might be someone out there willing to help make a French version of SHELL, or to help translate your realm to English! The Gila RPGs Discord server is a treasure trove of helpful people and information.

Ah, this looks so good! I love those little details!

That sounds amazing! An 11-Region Realm would be so many hours of entertainment!  Let me know if you need me to extend the Jam to give you more time, because I want to see this!

Yep! Just added a few! All I ask in exchange is that if you like it, leave a review and let me know how your game went!

Welcome to the SHELL TTRPG Jam!

This jam is the chance for any ttrpg creator to make something for use in the SHELL ttrpg! You might consider making:

  • A Realm for Nomads to explore, made up of two or more Regions
  • New Shells, ancestries that are also the source of the Nomad's ability to resurrect after being slain
  • New Equipment, including Weapons, Gear, Talismans, or Masks with which to equip your Nomad
  • New Enemies, Unique Enemies, or Titans to battle
  • Optional rules for adding new twists to SHELL gameplay
  • And any other ideas that might expand or supplement the game!

Make sure to follow the rules listed on the Jam page for your submissions.

Since SHELL is built on the bones of RUNE, you can find a lot of great advice for making content in the RUNE Creator Kit, found here: https://gilarpgs.itch.io/rune-creator-kit.  That's also where you will find the "Carved by RUNE" logo that you'll need to include in your submission.

If you have any questions, feel free to either comment on this post or create a new topic in this Community tab and I'll respond as soon as I can!

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it! Let me know how it goes when you play it, and if anything needs adjusting.

In the future, I may consider adapting it to another format. At the moment, though, my time, energy, and ADHD focus are pulled in other directions. However, if I do revisit this adventure in the near future, are there any other formats in particular you were hoping for?

I can't believe that I missed him the first time around; I'm glad that I've corrected that so his fans can enjoy fighting him!
Happy hunting!

Thank you so much for your kind words! Knowing that people are enjoying the content I make helps keep my silly ADHD brain motivated to keep making them :)

With how robust the second edition rules are, it might take a while to get back to what I accomplished with the first edition, but I'll get there!

Thank you so much for the shoutout, and thanks for hosting the Epic Dragon Jam!

This looks awesome!  I'm sure my usual group will be very interested in it, what with all the Silksong hype at the moment.

Just one question, though: I noticed that all of the different species' stats all added up to a total of 6, except for the Mantis, which only adds up to a total of 5. Was this intentional, or an oversight?  I'm mostly curious about the design intent.

Yes! It's a supplement for the Heroes of Cerulea TTRPG, which has a very pixel-art Legend of Zelda style.  Thank you for featuring it!

Thank you for these amazing icons! I used some of them in my latest game jam submission:

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it

I'm so glad that you're enjoying my supplements!   It is such an evocative game with such great potential for stories.  If you end up running Best Laid Plans, let me know how it went for your character!

I do have some solid ideas for one more supplement, yes!  It may be a while before I can get it done, but I am working on it. Thank you for your interest! It's really a huge motivation to keep going, knowing that people are enjoying my work.

If you have any questions about the module, or want to share how it went for you, please don't hesitate to reach out!

I'm always happy to add more for those who can't afford it at the moment! I'm just happy that folks are interested in my work. I've just added a few more community copies. Let me know how it goes for you!

Thank you so much!

Of course! I definitely understand things being tight; I've been there plenty of times myself.  I've added some more community copies. I hope you enjoy it! I'd love to hear any fun stories that come from using my content.

Good catch!  Thank you for pointing this out.  I'll be updating the file shortly. Please let me know if you spot anything else that may have slipped by me!

This is so exciting!

Welcome to the Monster Guts community!  If you're looking to expand your Monster Guts game, I and other third-party creators have made some fun content for the game, such as new monsters, weapons, and adventures.

WWWP features a lot of them on her/their page here: https://dubdubpub.itch.io/

And here's where you can find all of my content (most of which is free!): https://arkhadtoa.itch.io/

Happy hunting!

Hey there, I just wanted to let you know that I've decided to finally move ahead with publishing one of the supplements I mentioned. Check it out here: https://arkhadtoa.itch.io/best-laid-plans

Thank you very much!  I'm glad I'm able to expand on the awesome system you made, and it's great that you are enjoying my stuff!

Sure!  I'm on Discord as Arkhadtoa (or maybe Arkhadtoa#0097, not sure since they recently changed how tags work).

Thank you!  Posting a comment on one of these supplements gets my attention pretty quick, but if a different format works better for you, I can try to set something up.

I'm so glad to hear this!  If you try any of them, I'd love to get any feedback about how they play outside of my own solo experiments.

Just wanted to let you know that Volume Four: Master Rank is now live!  Thank you for all your patience!

Thank you very much!  It is very encouraging to know that people are enjoying my work.  Hopefully I'll be able to get the next volume out in the near-ish future.

Try loading the page again; I was still getting the new community copies loaded in :)

Sure, I'll add a few.  Let me know how it went for you!

(1 edit)

Thank you very much! I'm so glad that you are enjoying these. It really helps keep up my enthusiasm for continuing the project.

I am indeed working on other volumes (amid other projects)!

Volume Four will be Master Rank, featuring some very dangerous monsters that can hold their own against Elder Dragons, such as Ahtal-Ka, Espinas, and Brachydios. It will also have rules adapting the slinger/clutch claw (World/Iceborne), wirebugs and switch skills (Rise/Sunbreak), and Hunter Arts (Generations Ultimate) to the Monster Guts rules set.

After that, Volume Five will be the full roster of Elder Dragons from the mainline games (not including any variant forms, such as Risen Elder Dragons).

There may be some future volumes after that as well, depending on how much time and energy I can devote to the project.

I appreciate your patience as I work on these. I really love the MH franchise, and I want to make sure I get these monsters right in these supplements.

Ran this for my wife last week, and we had an absolute blast.  Her character is an elf warlock, and so was immediately kicked out of the town, and she sided with Sigwin pretty quickly.  It's such a great premise, and the tight layout with tons of inspirational tables made it so easy to run as a GM. Excellent work!

I ran Verana Keep for my wife this weekend, and we had an absolute blast!  Looking forward to running A Shadow Underground for her as well. Excellent work and premise!

I definitely understand! I've been in that spot plenty of times myself. I've added a few more community copies.

I had the same thought about the longevity of a Monster Guts game, which is why I developed Medara Village in the first place. If you haven't already, check out some of my other MG supplements to add more options for monsters and scenarios to your campaign! Most of them are free, too.

Let me know how your game goes! I'm always happy to try to answer any questions you might have.

I'm glad you had a good experience with it!
