I really like this. Thanks a lot.
If I could add two things it would be awesome if the app could have a sleep timer and a (basic) search function for stations.
I absolutely love this. Thank you so much for creating this. I can see myself using this really a lot.
From what I have seen the app never gets over 50mb (after my very limited testing), which is really great. I expected a lot more when I first read the description.
If I could add three things it would propably be these:
- A sleep timer function or something like that. So that the device turns off after about 30 minutes.
- Another would be a way to customize frequency in the custom Stack. I think about every second play (for me) should be from the music category, but if I activate everything, the chance for any music is very low. Other people might want another specific podcast more often, which is why I think a general frequency feature would be awesome. But I wouldn't know how to do that easily, so the increased music frequency is propably what mot people would find most useful.
- Using the crank to skip 10 (or so) seconds forward or (more importantly) backward. When listening to a podcast but being distracted for a second, a rewind feature would be great.
- (And of course custom podcasts, but I don't know how feasable this would be. And also it kind of is the charm of the app a little bit that you don't know whats next. Like listening to you own custom radio station.)
I also think I might have found a bug, if skipping a few podcasts of your own stack it just showed that it is loading, but it never reaches the download step and just skips to the next podcast. On this next podcast this repeats again. This was then seemingly infinitely continuing until I restarted the app.
Thank you so much again for bringing this kind of nostalgia trip (with modern content) to our desks.
Edit: Regarding the episodes not downloading bug: It seems like it is not only when I skip through, but also sometimes after the normal news. I was listening to "Your Stack" with everything enabled. But after the inital news episode it did not even start to download something and kept refreshing different episodes until one started downloading.
This is really fun. Thanks a lot.
If I only could request one thing, it would be record times per Stage. Then me and my wife could challenge each other every day to see who can get the better time in a stage. I think this would lend itself perfectly to this game.
I don't even mean a "beat this time per stage" mode (I think that could introduce more stress than anything else, and would be a lot more tedious to implement), just a "your best time".
But even without that. This is already great.
I absolutely love this. This virtual pet has so much depth. It also seems like the developer really understands what makes these games fun, and what doesn’t, because the usual tedious elements have been removed or improved. Great work.
I have one question though: I can’t find a combination of the auto-lock setting and the in-game “stay on” setting that actually keeps the screen on while the device is not charging. Was this removed in a system update from Panic?
Update: I don't really understand why, but I just left it on while unplugged and it stayed on for more than an hour. Since yesterday (the day I installed the game), I restared the game multiple times and restarted the playdate once (due to a crash when receiving bird facts).
Hey, love this game.
But just wanted to tell you that there is a bug in Poker, where if you raise it sometimes does not give you your money back. It definetly consistently happened to me when only one other player was left (Peter in this case, but I think it was with another player before too). After realising that raising was the problem, I went all in, after wich Peter folded. Then the pot went to zero and my money stayed at zero.
Another thing is that the crank is set up too sentively in slots and in poker.
- In the slot machine it is the biggest problem. It is set up in such a way that only the tiniest movement of the crank activates the slotmachine. This meant for my device that is constistently always activated without stopping. I have to put the crank away and activate the machine with the A button. It would also be a lot more satisfiying for this game in particular if the crank had to be moved from the top 90° down to activate (or just 90° left.). That would be a perfect fit for the crank I think.
- In Poker raising the value with the crank is so sensitive, that I cant really consistently raise the value to a specific value. I think it moves way too fast and activates also to sensitively, because it often changes the value without me touching the crank.
Other than these points, the game is a perfect pick up and play a little game for me. Thanks for creating it.
