1) Will this game's experience suffer much if the player hasn't played the original Shadowgate game?

2) What is the difference between "Beyond Shadowgate" and "Beyond Shadowgate special edition" on GOG?

This game is so very charming. The excellent music, the graphics, story, mysteries, general atmosphere are so very gripping and magical, and the retro look and feel only enhances this. Hoping for more games with a similar atmosphere. Congrats for the game!

The first few pictures (the ones which are advertised here) are great, but I expected the whole game to use the same style, as advertised. Was honestly disappointed when the art style changed (for the worst, in my opinion) as soon as he got naked. Also, not sure, but the actual game is the 'index.html' file, isn't it? There isn't any other file which can actually be launched.
