Will look into this, in the meantime you can use Idk's Save Data Converter to download your save file and import it under the advanced settings menu (may have to add .json to the end of the file name)
Use 7zip to extract the .zip: https://7-zip.org/download.html
Make sure you have Microsoft Visual C++ installed on your system: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=ms...
You must run Poptropica Legacy.exe from within the extracted folder surrounded by all the files!
Let me know if it works!
It may have to do with your permissions (this is Mac issue). Make sure the .app has been moved to the Applications folder!
Press Shift+T to teleport to a different scene! You can search Nabooti and then select a scene to get yourself out of there. Sorry about this, I'll be looking into why that bug happened.
Hey there! Flashpoint was used as a base, and Flashpoint itself was actually a minimally modified version of the original Poptropica, so there's not much of an argument there. I offered to attribute and reimburse the creators of Flashpoint, and they declined.
AI can be a tool used for great good and great evil, like any technology. No one else was creating something like this, so I took it upon myself. Not sure why an indie developer is being demonized for using AI.
I totally get it!! Thank you for your feedback. :D Let me respond point-by-point:
- No microtransactions! Just need to fix that bug. You will be able to get all items including membership items.
- It's hard, because if we do that then we'll have to downgrade to 30 FPS for AS2. The reason it feels more like AS3 is because it's running at 60 FPS - the control scheme had to be completely retrofitted to work at the higher frame rate. I will look into adding a toggle down to 31 FPS though, it's on the list. :)
- I can add that to the list! I like the ad scenes, I feel like they add a sense of scale to the islands, but I can understand why you might want them removed.
- I'm still working on the custom Adfinity menu, but you can access all ads by pressing Shift + T then looking in the Global folder!
- There is a music editor that I'm planning on making available, so you can set music how you'd like! Also, obviously we'd rather have custom music by Jeff, which may happen one day!
To import from Flashpoint, first export your file from Flashpoint (only present in AS2 flashpoint but should carry over AS3 data as well). Then, under advanced settings in the Legacy profile menu, import that file (you may need to add .json to the end of the exported file that Flashpoint gives you). It should load right in!
Still not opening? There was an issue with the auto-updater. Try now.
If it's still not opening, you may need to download a fresh copy (most recent version is most up to date and should be fixed). You can copy your previous save data manually in the game folder/resources/content/www.poptropica.com/profiles (copy that to the new version's profiles folder). Sorry about the hiccup!!
Thank you!! I've been working on it for the past 3 or 4 months more or less nonstop haha.
Couple of questions: did you import an account from web, import a Flashpoint save file, or create a new profile entirely? And when you closed the game, did you do so via the Save & Quit option in the menu, or did you force quit the application?
It's possible that this most recent update fixed this issue, but if you can still recreate it then that would be extremely helpful. :)
