Dang, that's not a lot to work with.
I'll have to be honest, I have no idea what it could be then.

Fatal error sounds bad.
Is there anything else written in the error message?
And what System / Operating System are you trying to run the game on?
A quick online search only gave me very old results (ca. 2017) about fatal error in connection with "D3D device being lost" on Unreal Engine games, which seemed to be the result of old, or broken graphics drivers, or old graphics cards being used.
In rare cases it could also have been caused by more modern and overclocked graphics cards.
If it happens because of older hardware, then I'm afraid there is not much that can be done about it.
Oh wow, thanks for the positivity! Really made my day!
It is really fun to watch people play the game and miss some of the anomalies while I'm shouting at the screen.
I often hope for RNG to trigger some of the crazier anomalies, like the big toad on camera. There's another fun one in the Bowser Corridor that I really like that did not happen in your playthrough.
But I'm happy to see you had fun!
And Happy Halloween!
I thought about adding either more levels from Mario 64, or even other N64 games, but currently I don't find the time to add more.
Adding difficulty to these scenes is a challenge since N64 games generally have fairly simple or empty levels, so it is often quite easy to notice when something changed.
But I think it's okay to have an easier Observation Duty game compared to the usually very cluttered ones.
And don't worry, comments are always welcome!
It was quite challenging to find things to change in these simple, mostly empty N64 rooms that wouldn't all be obvious at first glance. But I figured it was okay for it to be a bit easier than the usual cluttered Observation Duty games.
The funny thing is that I got the Vinesauce video on my YouTube homepage recommendations. I was quite surprised to see that, and I'm happy that the game has been noticed.
I see, sorry, this was my mistake.
I thought I could save a few mb filesize by not packaging in the extra prerequisites installer, assuming most people would already have those files insalled on their systems from playing other Unreal Engine games.
I have added them in the packaged zip file. Unreal Engine automatically bundled the installer in the folder:
ObservationDuty64\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us\vc_redist.x64.exe
In case the launcher does not automatically run this.
Thank you very much for your message!
