aight, well I tried lol. Thanks for enjoying it though!

Hey, thanks for writing in! You were also the first one to make a video on AFTE, I'm still grateful for that too! As you were the only one to ask a question, however, I'll just be answering it here, rather than a video.

Honestly, sorry if this disappoints you, but I'm probably not the best person to ask about this kind of stuff, but I'll try my best.

For the difference between writing for a horror VN and a regular horror game, I'm honestly not too sure. I'd say that in a regular horror game, you would probably convey more in the visuals and gameplay, so there would be less writing and explaining, probably.

As for specific practices and the like, I don't have many. To be perfectly honest, I wrote the game as I went along. Of course I had an outline of how I wanted the story to go, certain lines I wanted in, etc., but those were subject to change. When I got to a scene in the code, I just thought to myself "hmmm, what would sound good here?", and then I would write that down. If I felt that a scene was lacking or one should be added, I would go back and think again, then write what I thought would be good. Not that masterful, I know.

As for tips, I guess I would say this. Have an okay outline of the story you want to convey, doesn't have to be perfect. If you don't already have a script in mind, write as you go along and proofread later for any lines you want to improve/replace. For filling in gaps, think what exactly would fit in that gap, no matter how vague, and try to expand upon it. If you aren't confident in what you've written or want a second opinion, have a friend read it over. That's what I did and he gave me a couple of ideas that went into the game.

Sorry if this wasn't as helpful as you were hoping, but I do hope this was helpful in some way.

Thank you again for playing and enjoying AFTE, and I hope I can live up to it for my next game as well.

thank you pussyslayer69420.

Hey, thanks for playing and enjoying! I actually just released an update addressing the font issue. By pressing X, you can switch to a more legible font.

should I paste it into an object or a script?

the .yymps file format is invalid for me. is that where the "render" object is? is there something i'm missing? can't figure out how to get this into my game.

Thanks man!

Very good! I love the style. How'd you make the sprites and what engine did you use?

hey
