Cute little snake game

Easy puzzle game, good graphics, fun concept!

Very nice demo, impressive use of assets honestly, I love the sci-fi vibe and the gameplay reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog

Can't try it on Linux, but it looks fun from the gameplay trailer!

Really cute aesthetics with low poly assets, nice menu design, however I was unsure of where I needed to go for the quest, maybe a marker on a radar or minimap would be nice.

Heya, game looks pretty fun from images, bookmarking it so I can install it once I got my windows lapotp set up, currently running on Linux

I didn't quite understand how the skeletons were connected to the tetris, they started walking under it when they didn't have a connected platform so it didn't really do anything, it is a fun idea though

Good idea, was thinking of making a throttle function since I played using a flight control stick instead of gamepad. might be worth looking into

I use ubuntu 26 and it has some issues with unreal but not with unity or godot games from what I know, maybe I forgot to update my graphics driver

I have been married for almost a decade tbf, i am probably not the target demographic

"Oooooooh, there once was a hero named Ragnar the Red
Who came riding to Whiterun from ole Rorikstead
And the braggart did swagger and brandish his blade
As he told of bold battles and gold he had made"

Ok, let's be real, this game fucking slaps, I love the simple level design with a gorgeous view, all I can really criticize is the slow movement and sensitivity issues for large screens (32 inch 2k res), also I don't like shift for sprint as I have to strain my hand more to reach it, but otherwise it's a solid game and a splendidly executed concept! Would love a continuation of it ;)

Pretty intuitive game design, simplicity works brilliantly for your game! Would love to see more :D

Thank you for understanding our vision of creating a fun and chaotic physics game. We plan on implementing a tutorial level to mitigate some of the sudden spikes in difficulty though.

Haha, thanks for the comment. I am of an age where I am old enough to remember when games used to be harder, but young enough to still play them xD

Really good writing for the intro, unfortunately my game froze when I clicked one of the dialogue options, but I think I'll try downloading it on a Windows PC later to see if that fixes it.

The tutorial disappears after 1 second, no idea what to do, but the game looks cute! Good job with the UI assets and animations.

Not much thinking required for the puzzles, just press and pray that it's correct, I do like the music though, it's pretty chill

The art is stunning, and I like real world inspiration for the location.

Thank you! We plan on adding more gradual difficulty curves in the future to be fair.

Randalf appreciates your concern, young one. Glad you liked it!

Unholy Serial Bus: an honestly dishonest review, but a review nonetheless.

Introduction

Have you, my dear table fish, ever felt the urge to commit an atrocity most heinous, one that surely will attract the attention of highest alert with the authorities?
Well, I got some news for you, "Unholy Serial Bus" by notapage allows you to experience the thrills of fulfilling such a spicy fantasy, all while comfortably shrimping in front of good old Ubuntu machine in the comfort of your barely livable apartment, unless you happen to be a basement dweller in your mother's abode, who is awake at four o' clock in the morning to review the most underrated masterpiece from the darkest corners of the Game Dev TV Jam submission page.
Now, let's get to it, shall we?

The Gameplay Experience

First of all, the game brilliantly captures the daily ordeal of having to plug in a USB drive the correct way, without breaking the very fabric of spacetime that keeps the universe from unraveling, dooming every single living entity into the eternal abyss of interdimensional limbo.

The Game Design

We live in a society, where even the smallest act of rebellion against the tyrannical engine that grinds our bones into dust, shakes the very foundation of what makes us, us. It is what separate us from witless apes who, if given enough time, will eventually have pressed enough random sequences of keys on a computer to generate literally any video game possible without human input. No coding monkey, nor Artificial Idiocy, would even dare come up with such a mind bending concept.

The Art

Nothing quite screams "I have the brain of a genius, but self control of a chihuahua" like the art direction in this masterpiece. The 3D models are quite rough, but they represent their inspirations in a seamless way. However, the true centerpiece is the Fish, the game would not be quite the same without him. The User Interface is simple and clean, the computer screen interface design is comprehensible and accessible to even the smoothest of brains.

Final Thoughts

Hold that thought...

Cute

I really like the aesthetcs, level backdrop reminds a bit of the Nier prologue, and the concept looks intriguing

I saw your footage, and gave a rating, good job honestly :3

The difficulty does need some fine-tuning, but I am glad you like the concept :D

HangOn: Brutally honest review

Gameplay: this game requires more coordination and attention than I can possibly muster after only getting 4 hours of sleep and living on cold brew in my dank apartment while it is high pollen allergy season, the stars are not aligned, there are solar flares interfering with my nerves, and somehow, my fingers do not want to obey my commands.

Graphics: cute, but my 90 year old grandma could have knitted it better, I do however think that it fits the absolute existential hell I felt as I stared at my screen while attempting to control the pawns.

Music: 404 not found, or it is just meant to be silent so that I can hear my own blood rushing through my veins?

Story: Is there one?? I would like to know without having to go through the ordeal of playing this.

Concept: AMAZING 11/10 ILOVEIMPOSSIBLEGAMESTHANKYOUVERYMUCH!!!

Would I recommend this to a 12 year old kid? Sure, they need to be taught the importance of patience.

Yours truly, Caffe Biscotti (She/They) XOXO

Empty itch page and use of AI image, has to be downlaoded, doesn't create trust, but I will give you a rating if you upload a video showing the gameplay, or sending the git repo so I can rate the code :)

There is a missing tutorial for it, but you use the planar shift by placing it, then re-activate to teleport to it, it's a player-placed "checkpoint" that preserves your momentum so you can advance further

you are so right, it's partially inspired by Morrowind

was great watching you stream it, it's one of those games one needs to develop a taste for since it requires thinking about physics, checkpoints were on the to-do list but ran out of time to add it before the jam ended :D

Definitely going to make a separate non-jam release of it later once we polish the game further, thank you :D

Despite not being able to rotate my camera in web build, it's a solid project with great art direction and game design!

seems a bit too easy to pick the correct answers, but maybe I am just that good at dating, it is a cute idea :3

empty itch page, can't run windows executables on my computer

this is such a fun concept, and reminds me of my childhood, could you potentially make a web build or linux executable?

non-descriptive io page in german, no gameplay footage or web support

nichts sprache deutchs bitte

i cannot run this game on my system, could you link a video of you playing it so i can rate on more than just the screenshots please?

(1 edit)

could you make a gameplay video on youtube i can rate instead?

no web builds or videos, i can't run this game on my OS
