I got a chance to participate as a player in this game at Dreamation 2020! I had received my copy of the PDF, read through it, and wanted to participate as a player first before running my own campaign.

A big shout out and thanks to Jonathan C. for running the game! He did an awesome job explaining the rules and came up with a super fun setting for us to explore. He had us as agents in the Former Soviet Union in the 1980s, exploring reports of a flying saucer and kicking alien/robot butt!

My husband and I really enjoyed the creation of our family tree and defining the roles of our characters, as well as the NPC characters in our family. This was more of an action focused one-shot so we did not get to roleplay and really explore the Spines and Bones of our characters but we did have an enjoyable time creating them. I also enjoyed the risk/reward system of using traits to preform actions. I was originally unclear and under the impression that ANY time you rolled dice, those dice were used until you activated a Bone to get that dice back but Jon explained that you only lost dice when you rolled a double, which is obviously riskier if you are rolling multiple dice every round.

This one shot only fueled my desire to run my own campaign in this world. I'm thinking a family in 1920s New York and I will not offer my players the legacy of money. I would like to see how they react to needing to keep up appearances in an environment that is decaying around them.
