I totally agree. I wish I could have implemented more gameplay as the whole game honestly doesn't even feel like enough to be a demo. The files are totally randomized, but yeah, the timer was thrown in last minute. I always had plans for the game to be on a limited time. In an ideal world the game would have had a currency system maybe based on correct files scanned and you could buy upgrades or maybe progress in some story line.
I appreciate your comments! Thank you!
Super creative! I don't know if I've ever played a game that encourages the part of my brain that loves to cheese games. It's like stealing a box in mario maker to skip an entire section of a level or saving a dash till the end of a room in celeste. Felt good to play too, great job!
It's a bit awkward when you're trying to save up dashes and jumps and you use one, and then you don't know which one from which level got used up. I don't know if that can be helped though.
I LOVE this one, great job! I got walloped by the AI for the first five or so matches but quickly figured out the game and had a lot of fun with it. As any good roguelike, with balancing and more mechanics, I can see a lot of replay value in this.
My nitpicking: The AI you realize quickly isn't very smart. (And making a good AI for a game as complex as this I'm sure is tough.) The spell ephemeral is useless, since you can never run out time ironically as spells and minions (even the big ones) are super cheap. And spells like sundial are really interesting, because for that example, it discourages large collected attacks (but tbh its way too powerful).
Love the art and sound! It was information overload at first but it made a really fun game loop, great job guys Small thing: I was a bit confused in the "tutorial" page. My first thought was to click on the right arrow button to go to the next page which doesn't do anything, and so I hit enter, which just skips the whole sequence. Using arrows to navigate wasn't my first thought.
