Thank you for listening :D

Thank you for listening :D

Thank you for listening and detailed feedback :)

I agree with you about the lack of diversity. Because of my lack of music theory knowledge, I decided to go with what I'm familiar with and focused more on sound design. I'll learn more about music theory in the future though.

About Take care, Partner, I used a stock drum samples, so yeah, I really should find more natural sounding drum samples. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, you're right about the drums being heavily quantized. I forgot to humanize them. I'll remember to do that in the future jam.

Thanks again!

Thank you for listening and feedback :)

I agree with you about the diversity. I was so focused on sound design I didn't think about making tracks with different moods. I just go with what I'm familiar with, and my lack of music theory knowledge is also a reason. I'll learn more about it in the future.

Thank you for listening :)

Hey! Thanks for the reply!

Just want to write here for clarification, not trying to cause any misunderstanding.

By feeling a bit out of place for Neon Haven, I mean, it doesn't blend in to the atmosphere. Like, the drums and the atmosphere feels separated, not together.

Hey! I hope you are doing well.

I give a listen to all the tracks, and wow, what an amazing album! The Underground Lab gives me Psy-Trance vibe. I like Psy-Trance by the way :) Neon Haven also nice lo-fi vibe.

Honestly, I don't have any feedback to give, but if I had to nitpick, I wish the drums have a bit more reverb in Neon Haven. It feels a bit out of place when listening. It's just my opinion, so don't take it seriously.

Excellent work!

Hey! I hope you are doing well.

I give a listen to all of your tracks, and while they are good, I have some issues mostly with mixing part. This is my opinion, so don't take it too seriously.

For Demon's Pulse, when all instrument plays together, the frequency crashes together causing the low-end to be muddy. I can barely hear the synth bass at all. I suggest you to cut unnecessary low-end. Also, I think the bright lead is a bit too loud for me.

For Look Deeper, the choir could be wider, and during the string section, I wish the bass is louder and the string could be wider. I don't know if that is what you are going for but it feels too mono and lacks impact for me. Like, the epicness, if you know what I mean.

And the theme, I'm sorry but I can't find the correlation between them at all. I believe these songs goes better for more ancient theme.

Lastly, this is not related to the rating but I saw a screenshot where you automate the main track fader. I recommend you to instead use "Utility" stock plugin in Ableton, standard version should have that. You can use that to automate gain and pan without messing with main fader. Also, stock EQ have left-right EQ or mid-side option. Try use them.

Yeah, that's all. You did well :)

Edit: Spelling error

Hello, I have a little question.

Since you have to use limited number of instruments but not including effect racks, if I bounce a midi from one instrument to an audio and I chop them or shorten them or use different effect racks to create different sounds, would that still be considered one instrument?

Thanks!

I accidentally post the question as a new topic so I'll repost it here.

Hello, I have a question about bonus challenge #6. The entire track must be around 76-108 bpm as the challenge implies. However, I got a little bit confused about whether the tempo setting should be around that or the track should feel around that tempo. Like, I made the track with 90 bpm setting in the project, but some part of it have the drum that plays double time.  Technically, that part should be 180 bpm but the project setting is 90 bpm. I'm not sure if it's a stupid question but is it acceptable? If you don't understand what I mean, feel free to comment. I'll try to explain better.

Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, I agree on the page.
I have just made an account on itch since April this year, so I'm not familiar with many stuff here yet, but I will improve on that.

Sure!

I used Ableton Live 12 Suite as my DAW. For sound designing, I used Vital.
For majority of orchestral instruments, I used BBC Symphony Orchestra by Spitfire, Kontakt and samples.
For ambient, I used Pigments.
