The last still renders of Chapter 5 are almost complete. We'll have a test build going to beta testers shortly after, and while that's happening the final animations will be rendering. We'll post release dates as soon as we send the build to our beta testers.

We're focused on completing Bare Witness first, so it'll be a bit until work begins on Heaven's Door in earnest. For now we've just been releasing preview images of the love interests you'll encounter in HD.

We plan on releasing on Steam, and it should be compatible there, if that's an option for you. Keep an eye open for our announcement regarding that.

Some of our side girls and other cast in BW will be making appearances as main love interests in our upcoming game, Heaven's Door. You can see which if you join our Patreon (even at the $1 level) or join our Discord server (which is free!) A hint: at least one of the girls you specifically mentioned will be in HD, though we've not yet announced her.

Unfortunately, we don't have a demo version of our Android port, and it isn't something we plan on building soon. That might change in the future, but we have other priorities at the moment.

There are currently four chapters, with the fifth being the final one. The chapters each increase with size, however, so there is a lot of content to play through, with significant replayability, as there will be 11 potential endings to the game.

We've been approved as Steam partners and are currently building the store page now. We'll announce it when it's live, so keep an eye out for that.

We're aware of the situation with Itch and payment processing issues. For now, we don't foresee it affecting our release or the ability of players to receive the update when it's released.

It's gonna take some time. There are 11 paths to write and render. We considered posting them as we completed them, but a poll of our patrons resulted in an overwhelming majority wanting us to wait until they're all complete before release.

But have no fear: we absolutely are going to finish.

We do not yet have the ability to accept credit cards directly. That will change in the near future, so keep an eye on our page!

If you've already purchased the game, you don't need to ask for download links directly from us. You can just request them following the instructions located here.

If for whatever reason you can't get download links to work through that process, you can email us at alterworldsgames@gmail.com with the email address associated with the PayPal account you used to purchase the game, and we'll send you the links in response.

That's a Ren'Py version issue. If you have another Ren'Py game, copy the renpy folder from the game folder and paste it into the game folder for Bare Witness. Overwrite the existing folder and you should be good.

They're included with chapter 3. Chapters 4 & 5 will also be included when they release, so if you buy the chapter 3 release you'll get all later updates for free.

We're working on that now. We put aside all the financial stuff for a while so we could focus solely on getting chapter 4 done. Now that we're nearing completion of chapter 4, we can actually address the other stuff, including payment providers.

Bare Witness was free for well over a year. In that time, there have been nearly 13,000 downloads, of which only about 65 chose to pay anything for the game. While the project is still in development, we felt it was no longer fair to continue to offer it for free as there have been thousands of hours put into the game's development. However, we are offering it at a discount, which we believed was appropriate for an early-access game. If you choose to wait until chapter 5 (the final chapter) is released, you'll be paying a few dollars more. But that is, of course, your call.

As far as beta testing goes, we already have an editor and half a dozen beta testers. Our patrons on Patreon also get access prior to the public, and while sometimes things slip past our testers, they've yet to slip past our patrons. While we appreciate your offer to help with beta testing, we've got it covered.

If you feel that you can't justify paying for a game that isn't yet complete, we understand. Hopefully you'll give Bare Witness a go once it's complete.

The PC build should also work for Linux.

We're working on it. Storm had an unexpected move into a new home, followed by the flu and a stomach bug. Slockie's rig had a meltdown and needed a new GPU. Both Slockie's rig and Storm are doing better, and we're currently plowing through the  last quarter of chapter 4.
