Thank you for reporting this — you were right. Heat recovery was not clear enough, and in some cases thermal lock could keep climbing way past 100%, which made the player feel trapped.
I fixed this in v0.1.2.
The update adds an Emergency Vent button, automatic thermal recovery during thermal lock, earlier Cooling Loops, cheaper coolant research, and migration for old saves that already reached extreme Heat values. Thermal lock should still feel dangerous, but it should no longer get stuck at 400%+ with no way to recover.
Really appreciate the report. This helped catch an important balance/design problem.
