Right now the difficult is increased as you ascend (lava speed increases and the platforms fall quicker).But I think that more obstacles like your ideas will fit in the game :)
Yeah the head hitting on platforms is a little frustrating, but is intended to make it more challenging and retro feel :)
Definitely after the game jam I have to add some music a more challenges.
