If you're refering to being unable to teach it "mount" as a command, just feed it a bunch.
To teach your animals commands you need to have a certain like with them. Usually around 10-15 unlocks all commands

I'm guessing the phone staying to the side is intended, since you now use the GPS to move around?
Is that only a temporary thing while you work on things or do you want to make this as the new way to move around?
It feels a little weird but I think I can get used to it....
Bug-wise... you probably know of these but;
- Phone sometimes switches back to left side and will not move back to the right side if you try to change it. (This covers up some menus on the GPS too) I just put the phone back to left side, which prevented this from happening
- You get shoved into the bathroom after sleeping? This might be intended, but I find it odd that you don't get put into the bathroom after passing out in that case?
- When having fun with the goblin in the bathroom, the game returns to title screen.
P.S. I'm using android version, so I'm unsure what is game and what version related.
