Yeah, i wish so as well, but i think it would take away from the routes message, or at least what i think the message is. If he's just able to return back to normal as if nothing happened, it would make all the emotional growth a bit pointless I think.
Now, if he's still able to play, I would love that, but just not competitively. I think it'd just be better for the story
I do understand what you mean with the slavery comment, but it is used for many reasons such as:
. Making the person(s) doing the berating look bad
. Making us empathize for a character we didn't really like before
. Actually showing us what life as a slave in this world is like (at least for the servants)
Unless you haven't said that it's something the story did wrong, if this is the case, then I apologize.

I don't understand, this MC is not different in how he acts compared to other MC's, every MC does something we don't like at one point or another, there is absolutely no way that everyone is going to agree with the actions of one character.
People are just being whiny, especially when you consider last update came out two months ago, so this isn't a new development, they just wiped another thing out of their ass to complain about because they ran out of things to talk about
None of those example say anything about his morals, those are promises that were made to him, promises that weren't broken, but made increasingly difficult to achieve because Caelan knows he's not even from this universe.
And yes, people with no memory can still recognize how fucked they are, but I still seem to miss who fucked Caelan over. Ranok? For doing what, saving his life, risking his, and his friends livelihoods for a stranger?
For making a promise to take him home, but then realizing that he's from an entirely different universe?
I love adastra and this is not in anyway me shiting on it, but Marco was literally kidnapped, amicus literally fucked him over, yet he still trusts him for reasons like, complex characters, and complex situations.
Ranok had this shit thrusted on him as much as Caelan did, and he and his friends are risking just as much, if not more.
Leo is definitely misunderstood by some people, but Yas, i would give up my legs for that slab of meat. On a serious note I also like him as a character a lot, he definitely doesn't fit the stereotype of what a gay man is, and i really like him for that.
He's also Hispanic, I'm Cuban, so there's that XD
I think his attitude will change as he finds more things about himself and the world around him.
SPOILERS:
Although I wouldn't call him spineless, he's shown that he stands up for his beliefs, like when he challenged Ranok with the whole "servant-slave" argument, or when he also fought back against the voice in his head to the point where it's backing off,
he also stood up for himself against Vul, which is definitely something I wouldn't call spineless, I definitely don't have the balls to do something like that.
The more time passes, the more i see him becoming more independent, i even expect him to surpass Marco in that sense, because even though Caelan has no idea who he is, or the reasons for him being here, or the fact that he is being manipulated by some sort of being, he still managed to form some sort of Independence this early.
That's definitely something Marco hasn't done, even if you consider the parents "good", he's still under their finger even if he doesn't trust them.
Long story short, even with the huge disadvantages that this MC has in comparison to Marco, he still mad at his to be more independent and self-assured at this early in the story.
