All transmissions have failed and the truth can no longer be seen by the one eye of externality. Something true speaks directly to every heart but they have been attuned not to listen.
This is not a new problem. Every tradition that has ever tried to carry the Real into the world has eventually encountered the institution that grew around it, and watched the institution mistake itself for the thing it was built to protect.
The truth is not lost, it is hidden. The truth does not require an institution to survive. What gets lost is the individual’s trust in their own capacity to receive it: the slow attrition of the inner ear, trained out of its own hearing by centuries of intermediaries insisting they are necessary.
Mirrors of Wilaya is a reclamation of tarot, a deck built on a single premise: that every archetypal truth the great traditions have ever named is already present in you, already recognizable to you, already moving in you, and that the work is not acquisition but the devoted practice of remembrance.
The deck takes its name from its offering. Wilaya: sacred love, divine guardianship, the bond that precedes and exceeds all other bonds. Before you loved, you were beloved. This is the order that matters. The deck begins here because everything begins here: not with seeking but with the prior fact of being held. The journey of the soul through these archetypes is not a journey toward love. It is love becoming legible to itself, reflected to you through your own perception, by your own intuition.
The system is structured across four suits — Qalb (heart), Qawl (word), Ard (earth), Naar (fire) — and twenty-two Aya (signs), major archetypes that trace the truths of the soul from Fitra, the primordial nature you carried before conditioning arrived, to Tawhid, the unity that was always the only destination. The lineage running through the deck is Shia and Sufi, the theology is Jafari, the cosmology draws on ilm e jafar, astrology, and human design, and sits at the intersections of Eastern, Kabbalah, Shia, Sufi, and New Age, but none of this is prerequisite knowledge. The archetypes speak without a glossary. The mirrors work by reflecting whoever stands in front of them.
I built this because I am a person who has lived inside several systems simultaneously, not precociously, not academically, but as survival. I am a behavioral neuroscientist, a Shia Syed, and a Sufi lineage holder. I am a survivor and a practitioner. I have sat inside enough traditions to know that what they are pointing at is the same thing, and inside enough institutions to know how reliably institutions mistake themselves for the point. I am aware of the demonization of feminine intuition and the persecution of women as witches, in global cultural contexts. I understand also that we are at war with our feudal capitalist oppressors, that the world suffers in ways we are continuously sold distractions from. This deck is what I needed and could not find.
The cards are mirrors, not instructions. They do not tell you what to do. They show you what is already true. You do not need to know the traditions to work with this deck. You need only the part of you that believes before anyone has given you permission.
