You are right, I was confusing it with a trophy called Rich with it being a trait when it popped up on my screen.
Anyway, I found out what was wrong, apparently, his quest ONLY triggers on Wednesdays.

So I've been all over the mall multiple times and I still can't trigger this quest.
I already have the Heavenly Husband quest on my log, but I can't really proceed without having Rivals.
Do you guys know what are the triggers for this quest?
