Ok, so I (maybe) fixed it, at least for now. Not sure what did it, but in the end I reinstalled my drivers, updated windows, rebooted properly (not a hard "press the power button" reboot like I had to when the PC was sluggish), and also passed the game to full screen before doing all that (which with a slow game took a good 3 minutes).

Now it works, at least for the one session I did so far since, but I can't be sure that'll stick as all my first play sessions were fine too before these steps, so maybe sluggishness will build up again over time ?

Anyway, hope it helps either dev, players, or both.

I've got an issue and seem like I can't play the game anymore (I(m not the only one).

Only with this game so far (I've tried other games), when I start it, it soon makes my PC completely sluggish and like I'm moving through mud. None of my memories/processes are over 30%, graphics card is at 0 or 1%, processor 10 to 20, RAM 20%, I've got space on my drive and it is slow AF.

I've tried to duplicate the game files on another drive and it changes nothing. I've tried deleting the game and then re-unziping it and problem! My saves are still in ! So I assume some cache, somewhere, is keeping some persistent game file on and as soon as it opens, the game tries to load several resolutions at the same time (or something stupid like that, I guess ?).

I've searched on reddit and I'm not the only one with this issue, but haven't yet found a fix anywhere that helps. As this game is awesome, I'd love to be able to play it, so if anyone has an idea, please, feel free to share.

Just FYI, I'd love to get this game but it is really hard to find, and also I would much prefer getting it on steam instead of here if at all possible.

Saw it existed thanks to a youtube review, but then finding it has been VERY hard, so I imagine you probably are missing out on A LOT of revenue, despite steam's cut, by not being there....

Yeah, me too. Just finding it here was hard enough and I was searching for it for a while ! So I can't imagine that they'd get any exposure at all by being here on this site instead of steam.

Hey man, I'm not trying to be funny but what did you play that compares to OiaL in terms of balance between depth/humour/sex? I haven't found a contender yet and I'd love to play something even half as a good! Please please please, give me names !

Don't mention it, and thank you for all the effort and intelligence you've put in this game. Your characters have a soul, we root for them, like or hate them, get swayed by their turmoil, which is rare and really, really precious.

Really, hands down the best game on itch.io that I've tried so far.

I'll 100% look out for Eternum's release, but also hope that one day we'll have the chance to have some kind of interactive ending for OiaL, as that'd really rock!

Or maybe even a sequel?...

Wow! Just finished this game, and wow! Such a fine balance! Honestly I'm the kind who never reads the story and get bored quick, but this story is compelling and eventful so it never gets boring.

And Stabby Mike is soooooo funny! The walk-through is a must have to properly enjoy the game. Honestly I laughed so hard a few times thanks to Mike, but also some other qwerky silly jokes...

Even in the epilogue (laughing while thinking about it), see what hiromi's assistant gives to the kids 🤣🤣

Thanks so much man! Now I'm gonna check your next game and subscribe to all you do, as it was by far the best adult game I've ever played.

Now, in an ideal world, having the option to do more anal sex would be perfect (just like there's the option to remove pregnancy which I'mvery grateful for). But aside from that, keep that line and I'll keep playing everything you do!
