Based on everything I've read, I have to say that Eternum is undoubtedly a masterpiece. It was actually the very first AVN I ever read, and I can say with certainty that its high quality is definitely one of the reasons I kept reading AVNs.

The story is very well crafted, the music is often composed specifically for the game, which makes it more unique compared to other tracks you might find in various AVNs, and all the characters have their place and truly have their own distinct qualities that set them apart. Honestly, even though I plan to keep consuming plenty of AVNs, I don’t think anything will be able to knock this one out of my top 3.

To round out my top 3, I think Ripples is exactly what’s needed. I find the story truly original, and the work itself is very polished. I really love the fact that, within the context of the story, the author can incorporate plot elements that might be a bit confusing at first but ultimately make sense.

I also have to mention Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day(e) by Jonesy (they’re part of the same storyline). Like Cosy Cafe, it’s a linear story, and I really love the writing style. The plot is simpler, yet this AVN is the one that really hit me the hardest. No spoilers, but I can say it took me three days to get over one element of the plot.

An AVN I haven’t touched in a long time but found original as well is The Headmaster. It’s really a mix between an AVN and a management game, and it’s truly the most complete and well-developed game of its kind that I’ve played.

There are plenty of others, but the best I can do is recommend the Lewdflix website (https://lewdflix.com). As the name suggests, it’s a “Netflix for AVNs.” There are over 200 completed games and even more currently in development or even in early access. You can search by theme or by name; it’s truly the most complete platform. By logging in, you can play the games directly on the site. Personally, I prefer to use the site as a catalog and then download the games that interest me from itch.io or f95zone.

Normally when you download the game from this page you have this zip file : cosy-cafe-win-linux.zip that you have to unzip. Then you just have a file named cosy-cafe-win-linux with the game in it (look for the .exe). The win-linux at the end of the file name stands for Windows and Linux because it works for both.

What can I say about Cosy Cafe…

A lot, actually. It’s true that at first I had some doubts about the art style, and the synopsis left me wondering what to expect. But once the first few days of gameplay had passed and I’d fully immersed myself in the story… Oh. My. God. What an incredible AVN. I’ve probably played through more than fifty AVNs by the time I’m writing this, but Cosy Cafe has undeniably earned a spot right in my all-time top 3.

It’s true that at first, having only played for the first few days, I was worried the game would be just another one of those high school-themed AVN games, with a story I’d already read elsewhere. But the evolving complexity of the narrative is simply astounding. Each character is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, revealing stories one after another, each more interesting than the last. The story is gripping, with moments of tension and laughter—some joyful, others even bringing a tear to my eye. Despite the fact that you can’t make choices and the story is linear, everything fits together perfectly—the evolution of the overall context and the various relationships with the girls—leading me to firmly believe that if I could make choices, this is the story I would want to read without a doubt. The art style is very interesting, particularly with a technique for filling scenes with characters that I’d never seen before but which, once I got used to it, makes for a much smoother and more enjoyable visual experience. The animation, though a bit rough in some aspects at the start, undergoes a significant evolution, showing real dedication during the creation process and making the scenes all the more enjoyable and immersive.

With all my heart: Thank you so much, Cosy, for all the wonderful moments I’ve had with Cosy Cafe. I think it’s simply incredible that you managed to produce such a high-quality work for your very first AVN, and for that, I have nothing but respect.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
