Weirdly enjoyable for 5 minutes.

WARNING - Many assets in the NES Collection will not work on original hardware as there are sometimes more than 4 colours per 8x8 block, I've found some with 6 per 8x8. So if you are purchasing for authenticity or to actually to use on original NES hardware / emulators, be prepared to edit the artwork yourself like I am doing.

I think the assets look good, it is why I purchased the collection, and this collection will be fine without modification on a modern engine going for an 8-bit / NES look.

It is good as a starter, but within a few minutes of making a map I had to edit the tileset to make improvements. Issue is that that it is mostly 'damaged' assets which create a lot of noticeable patterns when used in repeat. I created numerous 'clean' versions of the tiles so I could draw the map out with those, then add in the developers damaged assets in various places for a repeated look.

My Son and I liked this pack a lot, we are using it to build some cool looking maps in GB Studio.

Great little game, I enjoyed it.

Good game, I like it.

Nice. Reminds me of my 8-bit micro computer days.

Watched the video, came to look at the jam and I realised that this one could actually be in a game. The UI artwork lends itself to idea that you can make this discovery after exploration, interesting.
