I have a suggestion: you could replace the new version's models with mods based on the old version's models. Players aren't afraid of any copyright infringement.
If you still want players to continue enjoying the game, I suggest you stop trying to create new models and instead revert to the old character models, improving upon them. Although I'm not sure what's wrong with your aesthetic sense, I still hope you will listen to the voice of the majority!
