Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D

After plenty of playtests, I think I'm satisfied how the demo turned out:

Legend of Idle is a SNES inspired Idle Incremental Game. Grow your Castle, reclaim your kingdom, defeat enemies & capture dungeons to gain additional ressources and defeat evil. It is going to be a short, cozy, but somewhat active game. Right now the demo is about an hour long, depending how optimized you play and how many prestige upgrades you are picking up. I'm still trying to bring regular updates to the demo before I go into full release work.

I'm happy how it turned out so far and just wanted to share it here as well :)

Yeah it is exclusive to the web build and also depending on what browser you are playing on. Kinda strange. I just uploaded a patch with changed code. Hopefully it is better now? If not, maybe you have the time to help me out and join my discord server for a bit, so you could maybe playtest the changes to the camera code, since I don't have this unintended camera shake behavior. But of course only if you want to help out. No pressure on that! https://discord.gg/2kFhhgRyZp

It is so strange, that some people have such a strong screen shake effect while moving the camera, while others don't. Like I didn't intend for any screen shake effect. I try to fix the code ASAP. Hopefully you can try it later again and tell me if it worked or not.

Is the camera shake happening always? No matter if moving with WASD/arrow keys or with holding right click + dragging?

Thank you! Must be then something with the code there combined with playing on the browser. I will fix it in the next patch, because a camera shake effect is definitely not intended :D

Already the second person mentioning a screen shake bug, but I never included one :O At what moment exactly is it glitching out? Because I only coded Map Movement in with holding Right Click and using WASD or Arrow Keys :/

Ah ok ok :D Yeah to be honest I thought everyone would play with the mouse anyway. But glad you liked it! I'm working already on the next visual update to polish the demo even more and then finally some new content to it

ah okay got it. A bit of different game design decision, but also interesting tbh!

I tried it myself on a complete new safe file and for it works like intended (on the web on my computer). But if you hover the chest, the UI appears and the "X" Button is still disabled / grayed out? Or is enabled, but you just can not press it with the virtual keyboard?
So I assume it has something to do with the virtual keyboard then. Can you tell me how you press buttons with that? Because the only difference I could see is that the chest has an "X" Button on it and the other UI's a "+" Button.

Even after you got 3 lumberjacks to open the path to the chest? I mean the button should be disabled until you hire 3 lumberjacks. Then the button is enabled and you should be able to progress further. Else I'm not sure what the problem can be for now...

I'm not sure what you mean? Can there be problems? How I use/play it: I move around either only with the mouse or I move around first and then click where I want to click. But maybe I'm just not seeing it and I can fix it!

I played on FireFox and I had the problem that your game started to go full screen, I pressed ESC to change the music menu, but after that it didn't go to fullscreen again. It didn't scroll then properly to the right and I had flickering when moving to the right.
You might want to look into it or maybe just turn on the option on the itch page to manually go in to full screen mode. Maybe that could already fix it ^

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah I honestly want to rework the whole game again, once I find the time for it :D Definitely shouldn't have happened

Should have put a marker to it - you can interact with the windmill and recruit lumberjacks, who produce wood! I try to bring a little patch this weekend on this game

Thank you! Even though some scalings are kinda random haha

Thank you! It was a fun little project and maybe I can work on that later :D

Really amazing game. Wishlisted on Steam. One Question: How did you handle the GPU Particles in the game without the game lagging?
Just somehow pre-loading while the game is still starting?

Hey, first thank you for playing and writing this feedback!

Glad you liked the general experience. You are 100% right with the content. It is still in very early stages and I plan to add much more content to it, so there will be more depth to it. Right now, if you play it very efficiently, you are done with it in 15mins, which is obviously way too short :D

I have various ideas, but it takes time. My plan is to have the next patch finished around end of February, so hopefully to see you around for that and looking forward to your feedback :)

Yes, you make a good point with depth and width. It's always more tempting to add more content instead of fleshing out what it is already there :D

I hope I can finish the next bigger update around End of February with way more depth ^^

Thank you!

Greatly appreciate your feedback! I'm also excited for the next things to add and hope to see you around for the next playtest in (hopefully) February!

Glad you liked it. I appreciate the comment ^^

Thank you man!

Thank you! I try to finish the next patch around february :D

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm excited to put much more into the next version until it is done for the final version. Hope to see you around for that again and read your feedback :D

While playtesting with a few people, I tried to find a balance between: Showing where a big upgrade is waiting for you (showing it with the crystal) and not holding the hand of the player too much ^^

And I never thought of moving the camera with WASD! I can add that. Good suggestion!

Yeah I'm already working on it, because it should feel more like exploration and not like trying to solve an annoying puzzle or something :D Being confused in a game is never really fun.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found the site and I will put my game on there as wel, once I patched the current problems :D

And thank you! Really appreciate it!

Thanks for your detailed feedback!

Yeah it's a little bit confusing. That feedback I read a lot. Sorry you had to spend so much time finding the waterfall entrance...  I will work on Clarity / Tutorials ASAP. That's why playtesting is so important.

And yes the idle gameplay loop is also missing some things and doesn't feel as satisfying.

Good Point with the night cycle. In the web version I feel like it's much darker than in the downloaded version. I will fix it as well!

Better be critical and saying the truth, even if it obviously hurts to hear :D But this is how one can learn and grow and this how I will develop hopefully something better with the next patch. I already worked on some stylization because of your comment, so I appreciate it ^^

I don't even know "Galaxy". I must look into it. Is some sort of community? I mean sounds good to get extra feedback, once I overworked this version.

And for The Legend of Idle - it was a little side project, because I liked the idea of a SNES Idle Type Game and wanted to see if others would like it too. It has nothing to do with this game, BUT... I want to work on it as a separate release as well, so I didn't abandon this project. There will be updates (hopefully at least one until the end of this month ^^)

That is a strange bug... Can you post a screenshot maybe? I'm not sure why this could be happening, since the code for it is rather simple :/

First of all thanks for this long comment! I really appreciate it.

I will work on clarity ASAP. That's why playtesting is so important. You suddenly see all the shortcomings you couldn't see yourself :D I will also add more clarity to the controls.

Yes, the sprite is a placeholder and good to know what Pixelation you liked. I will change the default to 2 and then people can decide.

I also like the idea of unique ressources, but it is not fully fleshed out, which makes it a bit underwhelming. I agree with you. In general the idle gameplay needs more depth. I played a bunch of idle games myself, so I can see that there is still a lot missing :')

I do understand your point with the graphics. I also feel like there is still a bit missing, but I also need more experience in that. I already tried a bunch of things, but learning by doing :D I hope I can still improve it or at least find some kind of way to make it pop out more :D

And good point with the new-game+. I already have some ideas to work around that, but you will see it in the next bigger update when there is more gameplay to it, so new-game+ makes sense :D

So again thank you for the detailed feedback. I will work on that!

Things that are for me clear (because I made it), aren't so obvious for first time players. I will definitely add more clarity to it!

yeah... That's why playtesting is so important. I will update it and make it more clear ASAP

He is just a fun placeholder for now :D

Tutorial gucken 3:15min von Gwizz. Ist super easy mit Godot ^^ ( Godot 4 Export to HTML and Run on itch.io Beginner Tutorial )

Thank you for playing and this long comment! I'm already working on bigger maps and more map interactivity. So it's really encouraging seeing comments like yours and to keep working on it ^^

And as the game expands, I will also add a save function :D

Thanks! Means a lot to me!

Thank you!

Hey thank you for your kind words! I loved Grow RPG back then as a kid, so I will definitely back some gameplay elements into it :D
I will keep working on this project ^^
