I just managed to run Playscii on my (too old) hardware (GLSL 2.0) on Linux. Just start it like so:LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 ./playscii_linux.sh
Performance is still ok, as long as you don’t enable CRT Filter.
