Hi! So, in some cultures Taran is a boy's name, but in some others when it's styled with the y or e, it's a girl's name. I decided to use it in this case because it was an easy homonym between a predominantly boy's name (Terence) and a girl's name (Taryn). By the same token, even if it's taken primarily as a boy's name, Taryn is still relatively tomboyish even if she finds it enjoyable to present more femme.
