Looking like next year! Next chapter is like episodes 3+4 combined in length, so it's taking us a while to get it right!

it's still in development. manly played the most recent demo, which you can download here for free!

there's only one real "ending" in the demo, though there's also 10 separate routes you can start, which all end on a cliffhangers that will be fully explored in the paid release.

You can download the demo from the store page!

later this year, but there'll be an updated demo next week!

we'll look into it once episode 7 is done, but file size is going to make that tricky without setting up an in-app installer/downloader (which I don't know how to do... yet!)

Right now you'll have to re-download (though wait like 15 minutes we have a new one going live)

At some point this week we're going to learn how to use itch's command line upload tool so you'll be able to just download patches through the client!

They should automatically carry over as long as you're on the same machine! It uses a save folder outside of your install directory

Hi – as of the latest update, the framerate should be locked at at max of 30fps, and there have been numerous optimizations to the animations. That being said, the game runs natively at 1080p and uses layered animations to create the parallax effect when you move your mouse, so it's still going to be more hardware intensive than your average VN.

To make things more accessible to players, we also added an animation toggle in the preferences section of the game that can let you swap those animations out for still images, which reduces the resource load to be completely negligible.

Sorry you're having difficulties with this! Maybe the Steam version of the demo will launch properly for you? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1989270/Slay_the_Princess/

There's only a 64 bit build – the latest version of our engine dropped 32 bit support. Have you tried reinstalling?

Post demo survey if anyone wants to fill it out! https://forms.gle/PizcJv6qmTiUEfrv8

Have you tried running as an administrator? And are you running the correct executable? (The .exe rather than the .sh or .app?)

What operating system are you on?

We’re working on a graphics toggle that should be patched into the demo before the end of the week!

Hi! If you don't grab the flashlight Duke can't get a good shot in before the Ditchling jumps on him. The choice is between him or Gretchen. (Or both if you have a certain trait)

Generally right clicking the .app file and forcing it open is enough. Mac os tends to have issues trusting games downloaded on itch :(

Yep

Episode 1 is a separate executable because it's a free demo.

Yay! So glad you had fun!

Can you post a screenshot or more details in the bugs channel of our discord? Or email to tony@blacktabbygames.com

Hey there! Sorry for the confusion. You'll be able to buy a key on this page once the build with Episode 2 goes live on June 11th! If you'd like to pre-purchase now, you can do so through our BackerKit page.
