Great artstyle!

I was kinda confused about the places i was supposed to go, but that was mitigated by a SPECIAL SOMEONE sitting next to me and guiding me along the way >:)

Very well made game! I love the attention to detail, and the great art-style!

There are some problems though.

1. The background on the fishing scene is just a blank slate, with colors in the bottom right.

2. (I know this would be a pain to make) But on the first time you go out fishing, you should add a "1 fish limit", because no matter what you do, he always says "Good job yesterday, but 1 fish won't do much for us", even though i caught three.

3. On the 3rd day, i spoke to the shivering man at the bottom of the screen, he disappeared after his dialogue was done.

Some positive notes for you, too!

1. I really enjoy the fact, you add variation to the fishing minigame, with at least 3 or 4 different routes being given to you.

2. You added an ending to your game, and it doesn't make you confused at all, and it fits very, very nicely in that part of the game.

3. Overall good job, it was quite dialogue heavy, but that is to be expected in these kinds of games.

Great job, and I hope to see more in the future!

Yes, the game is dialogue heavy in the beginning, that is because it is an intro to the story!


We know the game ends abruptly, the next parts are still "Work in Progress." :)

the Statue of Liberty scene is currently the final portion of this demo! It will be expanded upon in the near future.

This is the Intro-phase of our game, it is meant to be dialogue heavy, while easing you into the controls (Which we still need to add in a future update.)

The game is, as stated in our description, a prototype. What you are currently seeing is an introduction to the story of Sadie Browne, and it will be flushed out a bit later on. :)

Yes! We know! This is due to the fact our player's sprite is not very visible on a non-monotone background. Skill issue on our part i guess.

The father's death is meant to be ambiguous, but you can discern it through text-cues on the mothers part.

We are currently working on an expansion to the story. while we do agree that the backgrounds are very bland, we need it to maintain the visibility of our player character (And other NPCs) :)

a few visual bugs (that gb studio just kind of has), but aside from that a good game
