Thank you :D

This is very well done! It's really complex for a jam, but very well executed. It was really fun overall, I don't have much to criticise except the fact that the audio was a bit lacking when choosing new cards, because it was completely silent. Everything else was really good and I loved it! Congrats!

Thank you so much! Noted, next time we could add a couple more sounds and choose one of them randomly. I did notice many games like Baba is You do that, but we didn't really have time to implement it. By the way, you were 4 levels away from beating the game! You can check the solutions in the video found in the description, if you'd like.

Edit: congrats on being our last rating lmao

I absolutely love this! Took me 347 years to beat it. I don't really have anything to criticise here. The idea is creative and very fun, loved that the demons can't heal so you keep playing as more parties, and I love that you made use of that to make powers such as Karma, the one that deals damage based on how many heroes were killed before. The narrative is fun, I love how you kept including references to the theme lmao. The artwork is really cool (the demon reminded me a bit of Undertale). THE MUSIC. I LOVE THE MUSIC I WANT TO REMIX IT. Only thing to point out, this is a game that could've really used some sound effects. But I still rated audio 4/5 because I just love the music so much. Great job!

PS: I find it amusing that you can attack yourself. Curiosity killed the Dwarf Cleric... I guess...

Oh, I didn't even know there was supposed to be an end screen! Also, yeah I did notice you can see the letters' abilities before they unfreeze, however as I said before I didn't exactly care about the abilities, so I had no reason to check. The only thing I was thinking about was memorizing the order in which letters enter the input window and just have quick enough reaction time. And that's what I meant with disrupting: the order simply changes. Well, either way, it seems to me like you did most things correctly except time management, so this experience will help you improve. You did a very good job!

Thanks a lot!

Thanks so much! The gray blocks were intended to be figured out on your own, since the level that teaches them has very little moving parts but no other possible solution. But I know now that it wasn't clear enough, since you're not the first to point that out. Thanks. Maybe I should've done like I did with the main mechanic, a level that forces you to use them accidentally.

You were very close to the end, you had to solve that level and 2 more. That's where the really hard levels start (we made the last ones thanks to ideas coupled with accidental discoveries, so to be honest I don't think I would be able to solve them if I hadn't made them). You can check the video in the description if you want to see the solutions!

Thank you so much!

I really liked it! Simple concept, simple mechanics, but very engaging. Really easy to understand, and pretty clever: the timer doesn't make you feel rushed, so it ends up being a pretty chill and cute game. The art is also on point, and the audio is pretty good! Good job!

Wish you lots of luck, then!

That does seem to be a glitch, and so far no one else has said that they had the same problem. Maybe you could try downloading it (or playing it on web if the audio didn't work on the downloaded version).

Either way, thank you so much!

Yeah, we are aware of it. We don't know what causes it though. The code is very short, so it should've been easy to find, but we spent 3 hours trying to fix it and then gave up. We thought it wouldn't be that bad since it only happens when you undo near metal crates. That's what the warning in the description is about.

Anyway, thank you so much!

PS: There's a video in the description in case you wanna check the solutions for those later levels!

Great game! I loved the main mechanic, it was so fun and creative. The frozen letters were a good addition as well, since it forces you to adapt in the moment to whatever was chosen randomly, disrupting any strategy you were building. It was difficult, but I managed to win it second try without losing a life. I really enjoyed it! Also loved the music, and while I would've liked it to have sounds, it's a game that works perfectly fine without them.

As for feedback, there's a couple things I'd like to say: 1. the rounds became easier as they went on, making it boring to have to wait for one or two letters with a countdown of 12 and 4 repetitions, and 2. the abilities of the letters didn't really affect how I played the rounds, as the only thing I really looked at was the white outline indicating how much input window time was left. I ended up only caring about them to avoid the X ability at all costs (it seems nasty, but I didn't have to face it) and to speed up a bit whatever letters would be left alone at the very end. I see the same solution for both of these: make the abilities trigger when the letter is turned green. That would disrupt the order in which the player has been pressing the letters, while also making it harder as it goes on, as long as the abilities are annoying enough (in the good way).

Anyway, I loved it, it was one of the few that I got really close to beating on my first try and still wanted to play a second time. Good job!

PS: One last thing, that probably doesn't bother anyone since it's okay for a game made in 96 hours, but at first I was confused as to why the game didn't end, then just realised that it was impossible to continue since I couldn't place more letters on the grid.

This idea is hilarious! I loved the art, the narrative and the music. I did notice some hitboxes being a bit off, and some elements being misplaced, like the cat. Also, when the player turns around, the character doesn't flip on its own axis. I believe that is related to the scene's origin, so it's probably an easy fix. However, that made the fight with the neighbor quite annoying, because the movement wasn't smooth. Either way, I liked it a lot, and very creative. Congrats!

I'm sorry, I don't understand what to do. I keep losing money even though I am losing as many points as possible. Also, the game keeps telling me I missed more points than the dealer when I lose, so I take it "missing" points isn't the same as "losing" them? I don't get it.

I like it! The idea is pretty good. Time loops are definitely a good way to make use of the theme without making it boring. Also, the building is pretty charming: seeing how they sold everything in floor one, even the door, was really funny, having an entire labyrinth in there is weirdly fitting, and the people were pretty interesting (oh god the history lesson). . The art is beautiful as well, though it hurt me a bit to see differently sized pixels. Audio wise, a couple sounds were too loud, and since you're using Godot as well, and you said in another comment that this is your first time implementing sound, I'll give you advice specifically for Godot: you should channel the SFX through an audio bus and put a hard limiter effect on it. That way it will never go above that limit you set. Either way, really fun and well made. Congrats!

Fun game! I like that every person had a different reason to leave (or rather not to, until you do or give them something). And it was hilarious to point at the fish and just see "Frank", same with Battlemage the Cat. I would've liked to have a way to put objects down and some sounds, though, especially after turning the music off. It was still really nice. Good job!

I love this, it's very creative! Interpreted the theme way more literally than us mortals could ever, but done excellently. The game is also very balanced and feels really satisfying, the visuals are really simple but work perfectly and feel very smooth, the background is cool, the music is nice, the sounds are genuinely one of the best chosen ones in this gamejam, and it's really enjoyable. Congratulations!

This is extremely creative! Also, cute little game, pretty enjoyable and a good reminder that I should've taken breaks... Congratulations!

Cool game! I think I've heard about these mechanics in a Sam Hogan video, but without the cure, which is a nice twist, and ends up leaving good possibilities for levels. The interface showing which ones will die and where they will contaminate is awesome, made the experience so much better. Also, that's a lot of levels! I spent from 5pm to 10am making levels and still only got to make 20. One small critique, the volume on the contaminants' death sound is way too high when many die at the same time, and since you're using Godot as well I'm just gonna give easy instructions for it: next time you could channel the SFX through an audio bus and put a hard limiter effect on it. That makes it so the volume won't exceed the DB volume you set on it no matter how many sounds play at the same time. Still, really good game and really enjoyable. Congratulations!

Thanks!

Awesome game! The atmosphere is amazing. The interpretation of the theme is pretty creative, and the idea is well executed. Of course, as you said in other comments, the monster is bugged and that would've been awesome to see. It was the perfect way to make use of such an atmosphere. Even with that missing, the packages mechanic itself is cool, and if you can make encounters with the monster feel tense, then I actually believe this is good for a full release. Good job!

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!

Great game! I love the idea, and the fact that sometimes you have to bonk yourself in purpose to wait for the fuse to get closer is a really good way to completely spin the original game! The art and music are really good too, and sound effects are good but the explosions were a bit loud, and at the end of each level they were a bit annoying when the snake had too many segments. Either way, really enjoyable. Good job!

I absolutely love this game! I love puzzle games (I made one too), and this main mechanic is so wildly creative and fun to explore! Also, the visuals and audio are AWESOME, they create such an atmosphere. There's also a lot of fun little details, the character dialogue is nice and the game is overall really polished. Congratulations!

Thank you!

I never thought I'd see something like this on this gamejam, but I love it! Absolutely hilarious and very creative, the art is also good and the sound and music just add to the vibe perfectly.

Thank you so much!

Really fun game! The concept is cool, the art is really simple but I love the "impossible quiz" vibe, the music and sound effects are great, and the fast pace makes it challenging but very addicting. Congratulations!

Edit: just got 204 points, I got so hooked lol

Edit 2:

This made me literally laugh out loud when I saw it, I love it! Simple but nice. When the time finished it felt a bit annoying, especially when some ball was about to hit something good, but still enjoyed it. Good job!

Awesome art and music! I love rhythm games, however it's a bit difficult to play with the way the mechanics are laid out. The notes get too close together because they move at a very slow speed, making it hard to read. So I didn't exactly know how quick I had to press some notes that showed up in succession in the same instrument. Also, arrow keys for these games is usually a bit uncomfortable, because the positions of the keys don't correlate to the positions of the notes on the screen, so I would've preferred if it was DFJK, for example, or even better: just allow the player to change the keybinds. Either way, it was still playable and definitely enjoyable. And once again, the art and music were really good!

Excellent game! Love seeing fellow puzzle makers. The idea and mechanics are so creative, the levels are really well designed, the art is beautiful and the music and sound are really nice!

Excellent game! I love seeing fellow puzzle makers. The mechanic is really creative, the puzzles are very clever, the art is really beautiful and adorable and the music and sounds are spot on. Good job!

Excellent game! I think this is the first 5/5 I gave in this Game Jam. Very interesting mechanic, I loved how going later to the same villagers gives you new info. The art is absolutely beautiful, the music and sounds are really good and fit perfectly in the game, the puzzles are clever and gradually increase in difficulty, and has a nice narrative. Congratulations!

Very nice game! I would have liked to see something else related to the theme, but the movement feels good, the pink platforms' mechanic is clever, the music and audio are really good and the CRT shader is a nice touch.

Very nice game! Creative interpretation, interesting mechanics, awesome art, soundwork and music fit in nicely, very polished, just very cool overall. Congratulations!

Very nice game! It's a very clever and creative way to use the theme.

Very creative interpretation of the theme, and nice art!

Neat game! I loved the art and the sound, and it's fun to dig around for important objects. I also like the inclusion of the maximum amount of days survived possible in each run.
