Love this, so much fun :)

Disrepair Weep Cat...  0.0

Sure why not

As I've played a  bit more I definitely agree that it would give a very different experience, and I honestly think it would be a fun way to play through the game. One concern that I have is that of balance within those characters later on. I feel like by the time you get close to the end of a run you could become a little overpowered. One of the limits that I have encountered with normal characters is the inability to level up talents fully that are outside of your main stat, or out of your main 2. With level based talents you would be able to get the benefits from higher level str, int, and dex talents all at the same time, without encountering major downsides. I think with the mummy its fine, as the mummy has some downsides, but with the vampire it feels like it could get a little strong.

But I do think its a really interesting direction to take. Its definitely one of the better racial attributes, and as long as game balance isn't too affected I think it would be a fun way to mixup and rehash the experience. I think its taking a step in the right direction towards increased replayability, and I am excited to see how it further fleshes out during development.

While I am sure that Justin already knows, but I just wanted to report that for both Vampire and Mummy, some talents are inaccessible, saying that the level requirement is "Undefined".

I looked at this on vampire warrior. The skills that have 12 strength as a requirement are listed as "Undefined", while the 14 strength talent, shield wall in this instance, was listed as requiring level 5.

Some thoughts on this idea as a whole,

While I don't dislike the idea of skills being locked until a certain level is reached, it feels like the progression is rather stagnant with very large power spikes. While it is currently broken, I usually just hold onto at least 1 talent point until I get to level 5 where I can then get a decent talent. I really like the idea behind the vampire's unique traits, but I think this pulls it down a little in my enjoyability.
One potential alternative that I thought of that maintains the level-talent connection is the idea that each level, you can "unlock" a talent, and then you can actually get the talent with talent points. Maybe have it be an item that you can use for either permanent gain or temporary gain, similar to how health and mana potions work currently. Either you can unlock a new skill to purchase with talent points, or you can heal to full, or get another attribute point, etc.

In the end, I like playing most of the characters and classes. These are just some things that I was thinking about while playing. What do other people think?  Any thoughts on the suggestion? Any other bugs like this that others have found?
