I'm willing to help, but it's not clear to me what I'm buying on Itch.io.
Am I buying a now sort of beta-like state of the game which will be upgraded to a full version at the date of the release? Or will I be buying another copy after the release of the game on a different platform?
What's used for updating the game, an auto-updater or the game manager/desktop app from Itch.io? Is it possible to play/update the game without this manager?
Is it possible to add a game key to Steam for the auto-updating?
Also, the page states it collects statistics. Are these statistics solely about the game or is there other data collected as well?
