Love this idea, reminds me of paper.io. Wish there were more visuals and animations to keep it interesting to encourage people more to get high scores (keep people engaged is all I mean), but I also understand if this is a time related thing or a simple art style was intended. All in all, a fun little game, well done!
The idea is cool. Love the vibes of the cave. A few things I'd suggest: Add more animations to character, enemies and collectables (makes the game feel more alive, also totally understand if this was a time related thing), since I see your on godot, on your camera 2d, activate position smoothing (felt a little to snappy when jumping imo). Overall, love the visuals, great idea, well done!
This is a nice game. Great job especially for being your first time. I did find it slow, and froze every so often on browser, and the sensitivity felt too low on aim trainer. However I totally understand with the scope of this game. Overall, I love the sentiment and interpretation of the theme here, great job, you should be proud!
Yeah, I honestly have no idea why that thing happens where you cant jump, because you can jump from a platform sinking like a sofa, but when the lava level changes it does the falling thing (and also with chairs for some reason), but I'll definitely consider adding coyote time after the jam, as it didn't even cross my mind, as I had about an hour before the deadline to playtest. Thank you for the comment!
I beat the game, and this is honestly a fantastic puzzle game. I genuinely really enjoyed this. I think the only thing its missing is maybe better ui (button) visuals and maybe sound effects for moving objects (might be overkill idk). This should seriously have more ratings. Fantastic job, really well done!
Beat the game after a few tries. Really enjoyable, love all of the boss designs. The music does a really good job of not getting annoying after a while which tends to happen in many other games. The only things I want here are more animations for the player, and maybe a more stylized backround. Overall well done on making a fun game!
Such a cool idea! I actually really enjoyed the gameplay, however my mouse flashed between visible and invisible when I stopped moving, I'm unsure whether this is an in-game or itch issue or if it's intended (when your doing more precise movements I tended to stop my mouse and found it a bit distracting). The sound effect for crashing into a wall and completing a maze are really good. It being procedural really adds to re-playability too. Well done on making a fun game!
This is genuinely unreal. For a jam game this has a crazy amount of polish. I really appreciate being able to change controls too. The subtle bounce in the animation of the character is great, and the game still feels responsive. Whole game has a dark, unique vibe to it. Seriously well done to all involved in this project!
Sure, that would be great! : https://0ctoshark.itch.io/help-my-house-is-slowly-burning-in-an-active-volcano
Deal, I enjoyed your game, here's mine: https://0ctoshark.itch.io/help-my-house-is-slowly-burning-in-an-active-volcano
Finished it, but to be honest it was a struggle. The game idea and art are great. The grapple feels nice when you get the hang of it. I just feel that the checkpoints are unevenly spread, and if you accidentally go back into the water area for example, trying to cool down and fall, it sets you back a checkpoint. I feel that there should be a checkpoint between every area transition between sand and water. Skill issues aside, art and animation are fantastic along with the music. Cool interpretation of the theme, burn mechanic and effect is well done. Overall, especially for a first time solo jammer, great job, you should be proud!
The music is so cool. Great interpretation of the theme. I'm shocked to say but, I actually really enjoyed the status report thing at the start, when I'm usually quite bored at just text. The only thing this game is missing is some sound effects, for example picking up resources, entering shuttle, and walking. Another thing, idk if it was a one off, but I lost my spaceship and died in my first playthrough, but it didn't restart, so then I had to sit through the text section at the start again which was a bit annoying. Otherwise great game, well done!
