can somebody pls explain this ending \_(---)_/

(+2)

it's meant to be a satirical parody almost of innovation? throughout the game the village gets bigger and more industrialized, and the ending shows the overfishing that happens and what it leads to, a lack of tuna. Might be reading into it but I really enjoyed the ending, shows the dangers of overconsumption and industrialization (if you like this topic I recommend looking into 1800s America and Britain!!)

props to you for explaining that

Such a sharp observation! You hit the nail right on the head. Industrialization often forces us into a system where the rules of growth are followed blindly, completely bypassing the core purpose. The means become the goal, and the planet pays the price. The entire game is rigged in that sense.

I love diving into these kinds of philosophical and systemic themes in games. In fact, I'm always looking to team up with outside-the-box thinkers and cultural creators who want to build games that offer these exact kinds of profound insights (and maybe experiment with some cool gameplay systems or shaders to enhance that vibe!).

Definitely going to look into that 1800s history recommendation.

 Thanks for the brain food!!!!!!!!

basically the ending was that the cat you play as (i forgot his/her name) overfished (aka fished too much fish) and then there is no more tuna/fish (aka no more food) and then cats started going poof (aka they died) hence the cat you play as looks sad at the finish screen

hope this helps!

(correct me if im wrong)
