Nice work on releasing 1.0! Making an app like this is incredible, and I certainly wouldn't be able to do it myself.

That being said, though, some minor quality of life issues I've encountered that make it a little harder to actually learn these scripts, as opposed to Duolingo's script lessons:

  • "What sound does this make" questions (hereafter pronunciation questions), in Duolingo, tell you you're wrong, tell you the correct answer, and let you move on to other questions, putting the question you answered wrong at the back of the queue. In Duominnow, the only info you receive upon entering a wrong answer is "wrong answer", and you remain at the question. This is a little discouraging if you have no clue what the letters actually are.
  • You're required to click the next question button, rather than press enter. This is a very minor thing, but I'd love to see more keyboard controls, such as numbers to select buttons.
  • The UI doesn't feel like it's built for a computer monitor, more like a phone screen that's been stretched out. (Very understandable, though, web Duolingo also feels weird.)
  • The streak graphics are very aliased, with a jagged, white outline. Likely less noticable on an eventual light theme, but it still took me off guard.
  • The sound button lies to me :( (lighthearted) There's no pronunciation guide on the letters! Which, makes sense, given that this is a very small project, but still. My issues with the pronunciation questions would probably also be a lot less pronounced (ha) if sounds were implemented.

Sorry for writing a wall of text, hah! This project is VERY cool, and I'm absolutely showing it to other Splatoon friends of mine :)

Patch 1.0.1 is coming out soon and I'll take this into consideration!
