Alright, I made it past floor 100 and here are my thoughts:

Positive Feedback:

  • No other deckbuilder has let me throw a fireball that deals more than 1000 damage while giving me 250 max hp. That was a novel experience, and I enjoyed that novelty.
  • I liked the monster designs, and the various abilities were cool. Seeing the ghost wolf was fun because that meant I was about to deal 3000 damage to an enemy with 150 health, and the various vampires gradually transformed into the only things that could threaten me with 2000 damage bleeds.
  • This game did not exist a week ago, and you should be super proud of the fact that you made something playable in a week and had the confidence to submit your work in a public space. Good job!

Negative Feedback:

  •  The User Interface could use some work.
    • The armor tracker doesn't update upon playing new armor cards or taking damage, making the early levels very difficult to play.
    • A quick tutorial or UI elements that popped up when hovering icons that explained mechanics like bleed, magic vulnerability, or how many cards I can play each turn would have made the experience much smoother.
    • An option to spend all my upgrade points in one click would be incredible and would have saved me thousands of clicks.
  • I would have loved a "You Win" screen.

Floor 100 sounds a lot of fun, I can only imagine how strong your deck was.

Awesome to hear that you had fun, our first Jam game submitted was really not a video-game and to be able to create something enjoyable is amazing. And yes, we are really proud of this game considering the short timespan we had to complete it.

Now for the excuses, the armor was the last card I implemented so I might have not tested it properly, Makai noticed that on the final hour of playtesting along with the burden of having to spam click upgrade, but since that was the final hour I didn't want to do code changes. So that is a lesson to finish the game earlier, or even one day earlier, to get whole lot of play test.

About a tutorial or tooltips we really didn't think about that haha. Will be writen down.

We wanted to create a boss but we ended up leaving it for last over and over and then we didn't do it.

Tyvm for the feedback and again we are really happy that you enjoyed it.
